you need to turn on the wifi button on router

Check your network settings...make sure "network discovery" is turned on

the default setting is open (no password required) if someone else changed it in the router you need to ask the person who changed it or reset your router and start over.

If your computer is able to go online through the modem
Then you need to connect the computer to the router ad the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

For the 2nd laptop, first upgrade the LAN card driver, then reinstall the driver if the problem is not resolved with the driver upgrade.

How about Destop through Router connection to Internet OK?
Assuming you want to connect wireless from Lap top to Network, need to configure correctly for wireless in Router.
If you connect Lap top to router by wire and it didn't work that mean your router is bad.

maybe, you should try another outlet, or pressing the reset button.

No need for it , the router will take care of it,after installing your router, just open internet explorer and ckeck if you are able to go online
