Bought a replacment battery for A30 and charging indicater does not show battery is charging

Im not sure what you are asking but I will try anyway.
You just want to see when you are charging?
Does the computer work when the charger is disconnected?

Most new batteries require hours to charge before they give any function.
How long will depend on the battery and charger. See the manual.

My battery took 2 days and I was angry. (24 hrs the manual said)
I put my wifes charger on and it began to function.
After that, my charger worked but not before...

Let it charge for 24 hours. Then see what happens.

If it is showing that is entered in the computer then there is only one problem may be that is battery. You replace the battery and again conntect it with the computer.

Charging indicater light is on but will not power up.
Take out the battery from the laptop and only hook up the ac adaptor and if you get no power to it and still can't turn it on an knowing that your ac adaptor is good, then the motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced.

Check the wall outlet where the Power Transformer is plugged in and verify that it has current by using a lamp or something like that. If ok, then...
Check the laptop battery for charge state. The indicater light should show full or good charge. If not, the battery could be dead....
If no current from the adapter, the battery goes dead in 2-3 hours of use.

Battery charge indicator seems faulty.
Solved own problem. Bad conection between pcb and battery contact pins. Reheat each battery pin on the pcb carefully until solder reflow occurs then remove heat. PDA now repaired

Hey
When my screen got wet, I took it to Verizon. If your water indicater doesn't show any water damage they will give you a free phone no charge.
The water indicater is located underneath the battery, Pop the battery off and if the little circle is red there is no water damage.
