Garmin 660 "Display unit " won't seperate from mount

If you have preformed all the above then the GPS receiver in your unit is probably dead and you should take the replacement from garmin as the 660 is an older unit and probably out of warranty.

The Garmin 660 and 670 like most Garmin satnavs cannnot be opened unfortunately. Garmin say that the battery may be replaced by sending the unit back to them only.

Sounds like you took your unit apart. Sorry, you have to replace the entire LCD display. The flex cables are not replaceable. Hopefully you didn't damaged the LCD connector or the unit is now toast.

Sound like somebody has boughten that registered then return to the store. I would go back to the store where you bought it from and tell you want a new. .

The unit comes with a Motorcycle mount with integrated power cable and mounting hardware.

Sorry but that is a security feature. There is a chance you've purchased a stolen unit from ebay. Unfortunately, only Garmin can unlock it and they will require a receipt from a Garmin dealer.

Owners can select a pin code to use which locks the unit preventing use by theives. Sat Nav theft is a big market. The unit needs to be sent to Garmin who will verify you are the registered owner and unlock it for you. If you bought at a market is there a good chance it may have been stolen?

It should be the same as mounting it to the suction mount that came with the 660. Check the sizes, they should be the same. There are instructions on the supplied cd, but also in the built-in memory, visible when you connect it to your computer, and if that is missing, on Garmin's website. It does take some force, but it shouldn't feel like it's going to break something.

The only options you have when it comes to a locked unit is to enter the correct PIN, go to the location where the PIN was set, or send the unit back to Garmin. There is no way to unlock a PIN locked unit without the correct PIN or location.
