No unlock code for Garmin Nuvi 660

I bought a Garmin Nuvi 660 on ebay that came without an unlock code. Is that something that I can buy or get for free online?

    I also got a garmin nuvi 660 and av got no unlock code i av tryed it with the usb lead and still not worked thank you rob

    The unlock code is for future map updates. You can find the unlock code by connecting your Nuvi to a PC using a USB cable and looking for a file in your Garmin directory with the extension ".xml". Click on it and you'll find your units User ID number, registration code and unlock code.

Sorry but that is a security feature. There is a chance you've purchased a stolen unit from ebay. Unfortunately, only Garmin can unlock it and they will require a receipt from a Garmin dealer.

SOURCE: voice not working properly on garmin nuvi 660 - very disdorted

i have been told that voice to street is not as clear as the voice just stating turns. If it really bothers you then try voice to turn. I cant remember the setting but it should work well for you.

I went to the web site. For a update there wasnt much of one. Its a firmware update. And you need to have the unit hooked to the computer. Mine automatally went to the site and got a list of things you could update, but in my case there was nothing to download. But the web site for the GPS has all of the answers

SOURCE: free map update from garmin messed up my nuvi

check if the maps are tickked , go to settings and maps and check which are ticked, if not wot does not work right?

If you forget the PIN or password unlock code to unlock the Garmin unit, the best solution is to bring it to Garmin to get unlocked. It is a anti-theft feature, you can't clear it.

I bought this Garmin nuvi 660 in Ebay and have PIN because read enter pin
There is only 5 solutions to resolve this problem:

1. Enter in the correct PIN (not possible in your case).
2. Go to the secure location stored in memory - auto unlock PIN (not possible in your case).
3. Contact the factory and pay the unlock fee (factory may not honor this - unit might be stolen).
4. Try all possible combinations 0000-9999 (will take you a long, long time).
5. Return the unit to the eBay seller for a refund.

Give it back to the owner. Owners don't forget PIN and they also know the secret location where the unit will unlock itself without the PIN.

Owners can select a pin code to use which locks the unit preventing use by theives. Sat Nav theft is a big market. The unit needs to be sent to Garmin who will verify you are the registered owner and unlock it for you. If you bought at a market is there a good chance it may have been stolen?

Unlocking security code
The first thing you have to do is enter the correct PIN or take the unit to the location at which the PIN was set. It will now unlock. You can then press the icon that looks like a wrench, and look for an icon that says Garmin Lock (it is in different places on the different units, and I forgot exactly where it is on the 660, sorry.) You can then change the security code from there. If you are trying to unlock the unit without the PIN number, you will be unable to do so without taking the unit to the security location. In that case, your only option is to send the unit to Garmin.

You will have to buy them from Garmin for $69.95 but before you do that read the instruction book and do a FACTORY RESET.
This may bring everything back up.

You can't. Do you not remember your security location? As long as you take the unit back to this location, it will unlock. Otherwise, you'll have to send it in to Garmin with your original receipt to get it unlocked.
