All engines have a oil level .if too much oil is put in an engine ,above the recomended level then pressure produced when the engine is running will force ouil into places its not meant to go .This will cause oil leaks in any number of places and could cause damage to seals or correct running of the engine .

How do you remove the spark plug cap. I have applied a little pressure but I dont want to damage anything.

IF you mean the metal barrel that threads onto the end of the plug:
Remove spark plug, hold by the hex with a wrench, and grab the barrel with a pair of pliers and unscrew.

I got a 2004 625 ktm smc lc4 is a nice bike. but

Dont stress. A LITLLE more than the level is nothing to worry about. Keep the oil level between the 2 marks when the engine is cold and you'll be fine. Best way is bottom level is for cold. Oil must be above this level when cold. Top level is for warm. Oil must be below this level when hot.

Ktm wont start

sounds like you may have over adjusted the decompressor, back it off to where it was, this would make it backfire.
To kick them, push the kickstart through its stroke until you get to feel the compression as it approaches the compression stroke, then use the decomp to kick it just past top dead, let the decomp go and then kick it, no throttle

I have a 2004 ktm smc.my probem id i kicked it over, it started and after about 4 seconds it died and it sounded like bearings grinding when it died i started it back up it sounded fine thean it made the...

The grinding noise could be many things none good.
Has the bike enough oil & is it being pumped round OK (does the radiator heat up?)
If there was no grinding noise on the way home it could well have been the kick-start mechanism; as the footpeg fouled the kick-start, its mechanism didn't pivot far enough round to disengage from the ratchet. So the noise you heard was the mechanism returning but still in contact with the ratchet. This is the most likely answer.

When you adjust the decompression valve it actually depresses an engine inlet valve. You may well have adjusted it too far leaving the inlet valve slightly open as it fires, giving you back-firing in the inlet tract

Trying to bleed clutch ktm 625 smc

they can be a pain.......the best way to do so without a vacuum bleeder is to back fill it. buy a oil ratio syringe from walmart or an auto parts store. attach a short vinyl tube to it and **** it full of fluid. now remove reservoir cap and attach syringe to the slave cylinder. open bleed bolt and back fill slowly....tighten bleeder and work clutch to check for pressure and unsure there's no air.

BE SURE TO NOTE IF IT USES DOT4 BRAKE FLUID OR MINERAL OIL
MAGURA=MINERAL OIL
BREMBO=DOT4

SOME RACERS USE JOHNSONS BABY OIL AS ITS MINERAL OIL THAT YOU CAN SMELL IF IT LEAKS

I dont know what the tire pressure should be for the front and back tires

Look at the sidewall of both tires. There will be a 'MAX PSI' embossed on the tire. It will probably say Max 45 PSI. At 45psi the bike will ride like a rock. At 15psi it will ride really squirrely. Find a psi at which you feel the bike handles well and rides well. One rider may weigh 125 pounds and the next rider may weigh 300pounds. The best psi for each rider will be different due to weight. Generally 35psi works well.
