Hilti TE 74 not hammering

It takes 70 cc of oil in the gear casing. Too much oil will snap the connecting rod. If it did not have oil in it there might be a leak somewhere

Hilty TE 12 Hammer Drill Wont Hammer, but will run

Parts are no longer available for the TE12. Be carefull if you try to take it apart yourself. Some of the older models had a lead based grease in them

How do you take chuck off the hilti te 12 ?

If it is a TE12 and not a 12s you will have a metal external snap ring at the end of the chuck. Remove that and the metal dust slv will come off. There will be four screws holding the chuck sleeve on. Remove the plastic chuck sleeve and you will have the metal locking slv underneath it. There may be an oring in front of it. If so remove it. Push the locking sleeve in and remove the two elongated roller bearings. this will release the locking sleeve which is most of your chuck. If it is a 12s your front sleeve will be plastic. You almost have to break it to get it off. the rest is the same as te 12

I have an old hilti, model: te 12 s. it wont drill. when i press the botten it only hammers. i have tryed to open the machine but i can not find the problem.

IT could be one of two problems. 1 The Rollers are missing out of the chuck so that it is not turning the bit. 2 the clutch is worn out causing the gears to slip. The problem is there are no longer parts available for the 12S. You would have to find them on Ebay or some place like that.

If the bit seems to lock into the chuck then it is not the rollers. It is more than likely the clutch.

Te70 hilti hammer drill

The TE-70 is permantly lubricated. You would only add lubricant if you took the tool apart. You can add a small amount of grease to the end of your bit occasionally before putting in the chuck. This keeps the chuck parts lubed.
