I have a Toshiba NB100 which I use either with I with a philips 170B Flat screen or the in built flat screen. On an irregular basis either screen will go white, and I must reboot. This has also occurred each time it is connected to an EpsonCX8300 printer. I have had the NB100 for >1year and only recently (i.e. the last month) have I been having this issue. Can anyone advise the likely problem? Thanks.

Fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time
mcdevito75 here, Sounds like your moitor is burned out, I would take the monitor to a Staples, Radio shack and have it tested. Monitors are just like a light bulb and do go bad or burn out.
Usually for the volume bar to just pop up something would have pressed the volume button. It is possible that the volume button has gotten a malfuntion on it and this makes it to pop-up all the time. Try getting underneath the volume button cleaned. But preferably this should be done by an expert. Hope this solution has been helpful?
