1st, I would turn off the screen saver and make sure it's not interfering.

2nd, would see if there where any updates on your manufacturers site for any hardware in your computer.

3rd, I would go into msconfig and disable all startup items, restart computer and see if that helps and maybe something running in the background is interfering

Please let me know if any of that makes a difference.

Asus should have a battery utility that you can uninstall. Try leaving it out and let windows handle the power settings. might be some conflict going on. Can u let me know if you can't find it. Should be in remove programs somewhere in control panel

Compaq armada 7400 does not turn on

Please turn off the Computer and disconnect the AC Adaptor then remove the Battery. Next, try cleaning the metal contacts on the Battery and reseating the RAM modules. Then, connect only AC Adaptor to the Computer and try to turn it ON without the Battery. If the Computer doesn't turn ON then disconnect the AC Adaptor and insert the Battery then try turning ON the Computer. If the issue persists even after performing all the above steps then service will be required.

Random hibernating; Charging problems

As far as the laptop turning off on you when you move it, try it with just the ac adaptor hooked up and if it still shuts completely off on you then that means the dc jack (where the ac adaptor plugs into) is loose and the connections to that are on the bottom of the motherboard and would need to be resoldered so its nice and tight. That would take care of that problem. The hibernation problem, go into the power options in the control panel and in there you can tell the laptop to not turn off the display or put the computer to sleep at all. That should take care of that problem or you can set it to a longer time, your choice.

Will not recognize AC POWER, Running from Battery only- now battery is dead.

The adapter might be faulty
Check the adapter with multi-meter, the voltage reading should be slightly higher than the voltage output that is printed on the label on the adapter.

Problem with power cord/AC adaptor...maybe?

I would just go buy another battery charger pack. They are like 75 dollars to buy. Sounds like yours might have a short in it!

Always using battery power

Try removing the battery and see if the laptop works with the AC adaptor. If not either the AC adaptor is bad or the motherboard is defective.

Lap top problem

Hi

If the AC power light is blinking, try the following steps:

1 Cut off power to the computer by disconnecting the AC adaptor and removing the battery. The error condition will be interrupted, and the AC power light will stop flashing.

2 Put the battery back into the computer. Do not connect the AC adaptor. Try turning the computer on again. If the computer starts normally, the AC adaptor may be
defective and will need to be replaced. If the AC power light starts flashing, remove the battery, and continue with the steps below.

3 Connect the AC adaptor to the computer. Leave the battery out of the computer. Try turning the computer on again. If the computer starts normally, the battery may need charging, may be depleted, or may be defective. Turn the computer on, insert the battery, and then leave the computer running for several hours, which will deliver a slow, steady “trickle-charge” to the battery. Once the battery has been trickle-charged, it may begin working correctly again. If the trickle-charging does not prove effective, consider replacing the battery with a new one.

4 Connect the AC adaptor to a different power outlet, preferably in a different room. If the computer starts normally, there may be a problem with the AC outlet itself, or the voltage level available from it.

5 Verify that the AC adaptor is the correct unit for your computer model. The computer may not be able to start from an AC adaptor that is rated for less current (amperage) than the computer requires, even if the rated voltage is correct, and the plug fits correctly in the DC-IN socket. The labels on the bottom of the computer and the AC adaptor show the specifications for voltage ("V") and current ("A") for each device. The voltage level must match exactly. The amperage rating of the AC adaptor must be equal to or greater than that required by the computer

Compaq NX9110 problem

Is the system set to hibernate? If so I would disable that function. Is it exactly 30 minutes or just a rough guess? Also check and see if there is an issue with StandBy.
