X10 is a signal format transmitted over the power lines, there is no special X10 wiring in the house as such. The siren and your outside lights are X10 receivers which are sent a signal from the X10 transformer connected to the alarm panel. The alarm panel sends the codes which are transmitted as X10 to the X10 external devices. Most houses now days have at least two 120 volt feeds coming into the main power panel, this provides the 240 volt required for electric stoves and dryers. Because of the two separate feeds split at the panel, the 60 cycles is usually out of phase with each other. To get X10 to work and stay in phase on each side of the panel you need to have wired a passive coupler across both 120 volt inputs. This coupler keeps both 120 inputs in phase with each other and provides a clear X10 transmit across the house wiring.
I don't of any system that is simpler to add a device to. The process is in the manual and is something like press "add" on the panel, follow some prompts and press a button on the rear of the motion sensor. Pretty easy if you dont have keypad phobia. Electronic version of the manual is at this location (adding a sensor starts on page 18).
its possible u need to get into engneer mode theres a button on top press pull down flap enter 654321 and then add sensor remote button then press the two top buttons on the remote
to program any new sensors first you must access the installer menu by opening the front cover and using the red buttons typing in the installers code,(4321) is the default code. once that is done press the add button, then the sensor/remote button, then trip sensor(keyfob by pressing both the lock and unlock buttons together until the system beeps) or (removing the smoke detector from the base until it beeps). Once the sensor has been learned it will say keychain remote, press the sensor/remote button repeatedly until it says the correct location, then press done. then enter group code 01 for the keyfob and 26 for the smoke detector. then done.
i dont know if this will work or not but try changing the battery i the remote . we just got our system installed a we have two remotes they installer said they have watch size batteries. hope this helps.
Obtain the installation manual. You should be able to find this on Google. Search for Ge Simon 3 install manual. Follow te instructions for deleting sensors.
You need to use an installer code to add/remove sensors. Depending on what number of digits your alarm code is set for will determine the number for the intaller code. Look in the installer manual for the code. Then follow these steps:
Open the panel.
Key in installer coe
Select Add
Select Sensor/Remote
Activate the sensor you want to add. Some sensors have a button, some have to opened to activate.
Choose sensor name and group. Groups are listed in the manual. Basically, if you want the sensor to arm when the doors arm (such as for a window sensor or door sensor) put it in group 10 or 13. If it's a smoke sensor, group 26; motion detector, group 17 and keyfob, group 01.
Press done when finished and run the test to make sure the system is reading the sensor.
