OK this is the fix for the LC6200 that worked for me. Unscrew top cover (2 screws) then another screw holding internals to external case. Carefully remove safety switch lever (use long nose pliers from the top next to lever to squeeze plastic barb that holds the levers in to the plastic body). Remove all screws on the bottom. Open and undo the drive shaft pully nut clockwise. Pull out shaft and remove belt. Unscrew motor from chassis plate. From the bottom push out the plastic speed control dial with screwdriver. Remove motor and component boards. Check microswitches. Then remove diac DB3 and replace. Remove triac BT137 600v and replace. PS I used a 800v motorola MAC228 instead. Assemble in reverse. Good Luck.

Testimonial: "Provided an actual fix that he had tested himself. Clear instructions on disassembly of appliance. Replacement part specifically listed."
This did not completely fix the problem for me. Speed selection now works, but with the rotary switch in the off position the motor still spins on low speed.
I thought I would try a more elegent solution of adding a snubber, but the PCB already has a 100ohm/0.1uF snubber. Perhaps it is now spurious triggering, rather than the triac failing.
I used a BT137-800 triac and a DB3 diac from RS-Components, which seems to do the job.
I have just got around to replacing the triac with a 800V version (BT138-800E, Element14 code 2074975). Now it works perfectly - turns off, and runs at slow speed. Thanks for the tip Denis and powl

Same issue here - I replaced the Diac first which didn't fix the problem, but after replacing the Triac as well it all worked as it should. Replacement parts cost $5.90 from Jaycar, I used these:
Triac - BT137 600V - cat # ZX7149
Diac - ST2 - cat # ZX7192
Thanks.
I have the same problem with my Sunbeam LC6200 Food Processor motor, but haven't found anyone who can help me with the problem :-(

Usually answered in minutes!
I replaced the triac (Q1) and the diac, and it worked! That is until I reassembled it - it immediately failed again!
I had replaced the diac and triac at the same time so I don't know which failed. Possibly the triac due to insufficient or no snubber across it. Maybe I'll be motivated enough to open it up again and draw a circuit diagram, but probably not.
A replacement PCB was available for $35, but the wait was about 2 months. The triac was only $6 from Jaycar.
Sunbeam support suggested these places in Christchurch

Saxon Appliances Ltd 383 Wilsons Rd,Saint Martins,Christchurch 8022 03-3656404
seems to be a common fault - I also have aquired one with the same issue - The Triac will be no issue but do you know where to get the diac DB3 from - is it a common type. Did this fix all the issues? I have no idea what a snubber is - Sorry!
