the battery is bad and needs to be replace.
the battery has three poles: one ground and two plus
the middle connector is wired with a small thermistor or diode to the plus connector. and this part is bad (open contact), so it will not signal to the phone print board to start the charging proces.
what you do is call your own phone number it will tell you to set up a voicemail account and make a 4 digit pin ....once that is made you can listen to the prompts to listen to your voicemail and erase the messege and the phone will get back to its normal self hope this helps
Each handset has to sit in the base cradle for at least 15 seconds to register. It should say ready within a few seconds. Same thing after the power shuts off. All handsets have to be re-registered in the main base set.
