You've probably already fried your DSi. Electronics and water do not mix. You may be able to send it to Nintendo to get it repaired, but it won't be covered under warranty and it might be impossible to repair. In the future, if you spill water on any piece of electronics and it is turned off, do not attempt to turn it back on. There is a small chance that you can avoid frying the circuits by letting the device air dry over a week or two.
If nothing else, you may be able to sell your DSi on Ebay. Some people buy up damaged DSi's and will either repair the unit or remove the functional parts and sell those. Make sure you give a warning in the description that the unit is not operational and is being sold as is. Do not attempt to pass off the unit as a functional DSi.
Dry it out as soon as you can and DO NOT try and turn it on while its wet otherwise, it will be fried. If you did what i told you not to before you read this, first of all try getting a new battery. Order one and see if you can still play. If you cant, send your Ds,Dsi, or Dsi XL to Nintendo and they will fix your Ds. Hope this helped! :D
the problem is this, the liquid you spilled on it has gotten into the panel and has therefore caused a real mess of both your panel and device.this is common to all electronic devices, the only way out is if you can take it apart carefully and try to use a piece of cloth soaked in methylated spirit to wipe the entire board clean(methylated spirit dries faster and evaporates other liquids like your 7up which is probably still on the board causing damage).if this doesn't work, the only way out is to give it to an engineer or call the company because the liquid might have caused a short circuite and damaged the whole board beyond repairs. here is an instructional manual on how to open it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8RFuyiEATo
