Hi
Check your battery connections. mainly the black earth lead from the car battery to the car body, this might be connected but it needs a really good connection tostart the car.

The clicking will be the starter motor, they do this when either they are not getting enough power or have jammed up. you can give the starter motor a tap with a hammer that normally unjams them.

Also the battery might be weak, try and jump it off with another battery or car.
Is the car an automatic???? if not then put it in gear and push it forward with the keys out of the ignition, again this will turn the engine one revoloution and free off the starter, only works on manaul/stick cars though!!

Hope this helps

Regards
Dan

You can try tapping on starter with a hammer, sometimes they will stick when they get old. If that works you will need to replace the starter ASAP.
Hope that helps

SOURCE: truck won't start lights etc

Have the battery and the connections at the battery checked, remove the battery terminals first and clean them then try to start it and if the battery tests good then i would say you have a bad starter. and when replacing the starter check the big cable connection at starter. good day.

Clicking sound but engine won't start

This actually does sound like the battery is low on charge. A battery which is quite low on charge will still light the headlights and run many other electrical accessories, but will not engage the starter (which requires much more power than other accessories).
I would start by making sure that an electrical device, such as interior lights, glove box lights, trunk light or something else has not been left on. Then carefully jump start the engine. It is also possible that the battery might need to be replaced for not holding a charge.

My 2004 Honda Pilot ran fine then a hour later won't start. At first thought battery so we charged up usig one of those chargers you plug in. Lights flicker, and clicking sounds but won't turn

Check batry terminals are secure & free from corosion, check security of earth strap to engine & main power wire on starter, if ok have the batry load tested to ensure it can perform under load as the starter needs a lot of current. Have you tried a jump start?

My plymouth breeze won't start, won't make a sound, but my lights and horn still works , help me.

any real answer yet? did the problem ever get resolved? i have the same problem with my sister's car. too cold to diagnose tonight, but will post the solution probably tomorrow. since the lights and heater works, but ignition and radio arent getting power, my first guess is there's probably a fried fusible link which controls the 2nd accessory power to the ignition switch. will post a solution soon.

1992 toyota pickup won't start and battery won't charge

Sounds like your battery is just too dead, has enough juice to light up the system for a minute but cranking drains it and if it wont charge then deff fried, you could try removing the battery and starting the car with cables to confirm the starter still works. If a bettery is too dead then when you are jumping it, it takes to much of the power just trying to get through the battery.

It sounds like you probably have a shorted battery cell. This will not only cause the repeated clicking that you described, but it will also rob power when jump-starting from another vehicle. There is probably enough power when jump starting to turn the starter over, but after the starter take the power that it needs, there is not enough power to operate the computer system....so I have no doubt that you probably are not getting any fuel. The computer has to tell the fuel pump to run. If there is no power for the computer....I think you can figure it out from here.

Replace the battery and try it again.

If you hear relays clicking sometimes and the jeep won't start, at those times, is the check engine light illuminated on the dash, or not? If no check engine light is on the dash, at times when the jeep won't start, your ecu is in need of repairs. The ecu sends power to the ignition and fuel relays and when the ecu starts to malfunction, the relays usually start clicking.
