HELP! I HAVE AN UNLOCKED IPHONE (16G) W/ TMOBILE AND AS I PUT IT ON MY COMPUTER THE ITUNES MESSAGE WAS THAT THE SIM CARD IN IPHONE IS NOT SUPPORTED! WHAT DO I DO

But keep in mind if you ar enot sure that you understood how to do it ..just get someone to do it for you ..its not that expensive and it will be safer ..
by the way the first link is just an universal sim-lock removal...and Im not sure it will work but it worth looking ...cause I just suspect your device it is locked on a provider ...
so ...my advice it to search on you tube by unlocking iphones..and watch all those videos that explains how this stuff is done ...cause if you are talking about jail-breaking it ..its a little harder to do ....you need teh program ...the firmware and to know exactly what kind it is ...

THis seems to be an issue htat ahappens from time to time. Its lioke apple sends out something to block it.

2 things to try.

1. put your phone into airplane mode and try that. It used to work, hard to say if it stills does or not.

2. Find someone who has an ATT sim card and put it into your phone and sync. Once the sync is done, replace with your t-mobile one again.

Hello :

That means that your phone is not really unlocked . If you want to unlock your phone or any cell phone ,you need to restore factory settings for that phone .

Are you using a legitimate ATT sim card or are you jailbroken using Tmobile or some other GSM provider? you can try putting the phone into DFU mode. Have it plugged into the computer. and turn it off. Then hold both the upper sleep/wake button and the bottom Home button for 10 seconds. Then when you get to ten release the top sleep/wake button and continue holding the bottom home button until itunes gives you a message about it recognizing a phone in recovery mode. This should allow you to restore the phone.

the iphone is solely locked to the att network and it appears that when you got your iphone at alower ios like 3.1.3 it was unlocked and jail broken, but now that you've updated you broke the unlock, thats what every update does, the good new is that currently there is a jailbreak out for the new software which you know already because you did it. the bad news is that there isn't a unlock for the 4.1.2 ios as yet, if this is you only phone my friend sorry to say but you screwed the pooch but if you have another phone that you can you for a couple of days/weeks then your ok.

Messed up iphone
turn off your computer and make sure to turn off itunes.
turn it back on including itunes, then plug in your phone.
restore your phone using itunes
if you are not using at&t then go to intotheiphone.com and run thier program to unlock your phone to use it with tmobile etc; if not, then just register it in itunes.

Iphone 2g given to me. phone is dead. when turned on, it shows apple logo and itunes plug. I went to itunes and followed prompt to have software restored. It failed saying not able to restore. An unknown...
is it unlocked/openline? coz if not it will only recognize the authorizedc simcard. If it is try put your sim card in before you open it. plug them in your computer, have the itunes downloaded first. It should work.

I recommend you restore your iPhone, if you don't know how, i'll be happy to walk you through it. After that, upgrade to the new firmware. After you have upgraded, unlock it with the newest PWNing software. That should fix your problwm.

what sim card are you trying to use after the restore in itunes and also when you finished the restore in itunes did your iphone come up with a message saying iphone activated?

Hey I can solve this!!!!!!!!! ok step 1 : do you have friend that has a sim card? well if you do ask to barrow it then insert it step2: go to itunes and your iphone should come up step 3: ask him or her to insert there Billing Zip Code (i forgot to mention this, when itunes reconizes the iphone it will ask you to register it or whatever click continue) and ask your friend to put his or her personal **** such as email address an LAST 4 DIGITS OF SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!!! step 4: when thats done it have to install then it will let you into itunes then sync your music,videos yadda yadda yadda then pop out the sim card WARNING do not put your real sim card or it will do this **** all over again ALSO i do not know yet how to make calls or just look up fring its a app(FOR FREE on itunes) that allows you to make calls WITHOUT SIM CARD look it up
Overall (depending on the speed of your computer ) it should take 5-10 minutes and aslo you have your friends number programed onto your iphone but its better than trying to guess the PUK/SIM PIN

2 Problems..Sim Card Problems
Well, first off, an iPhone won't work at all with a T-Mobile SIM card. American iPhones are locked to AT&T's network -- only AT&T SIM cards will work in them.

As far as activating it with AT&T, make sure that the iPhone isn't connected to the computer while you install iTunes. Once iTunes is installed, connect the iPhone to the computer and iTunes should launch automatically and begin the activation wizard. Just follow the instructions on the screen and answer the questions.
