You need to remove the platter to check the trip mechanism... A bit tricky, but a clean will usually solve as the lubricant stiffens ... There is a catch which holds the platter on , which is released by loosening a screw on the LHS and you gain accees to it though an opening in the metal platter after removing the rubber mat...If you dont release the catch you will break the spindle mount and it will be useless !

Record player repair

The top arm that swings over the spindle will control the automatic return. Leave the unit off. Swing the overhead holding top arm over and manually load a record. Now switch the top arm over the niddle spindle. Make sure that the switch is set for 7", 10" or 12" (45, 78, or 33). Manually place the tonearm at the start of the record and flip switch to 'play' (not reject or auto). It should play the whole record and automatically eject at the end and then shut off. Leave the arm swung over the middle after you loaded the record. Good luck. Let me know if you have any more questions.

The tonearm on my crosley turntable doesnt automatically lift up at the end of the record, what do i do?

At the pivot point on the arm there is an indexing adjustment screw. With the unit running and a record on the table, put the are into the lift area on the record and turn the indexing screw until the arm lifts itself.

My arm won't lower onto record, the arm lowewring mechinism won't lower

After my THIRD Ion turntable had the arm-lowering problem...

I rotated the platter counterclockwise about 12 times and it worked...for now. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope it wasn't a fluke.

It doesn't work. I have followed the instructions though i couldn't find the EG switch but the table doesn't turn when its plugged in turned on and started.

hi,
check whether you have inserted the belt or not. in new turn tables you hvave to set the belt in proper position before starting use. u have to make the belt engaged with the motor pulley.

I have added here a video which demonstrate the installing of belt in a turn table.

In your turntable you can see the belt under the plater when u remove the plater.
remember one thing after installation of belt before plugging it mains , do the following

1. lock the arm in the arm rest
2. rotate the plater 10 times with you finger (for resetting the start position

Then connect the power release the arm lock insert a record press start

If you need any further assistance from me , feel free to contact me through fixya

Why would it stop recording in the middle of a

1st question. What stops recording? Or do you mean the turntable stops playing in the middle of the LP?

2nd question. The weight to set depends on the cartridge fitted. If the cartridge says 4 grams for it set at that. The trick is to set it so that it keeps in the groove of the record and not jumping, except on bad records of course. If you pick up a lot of rumble (during the gaps for instance) it will have too much weight on. On the back of the arm should be a ring or something with numbers on. Turn it till a number matches the indicator mark. The number you chose should match the weight required.
They used to sell a gauge for stylus pressure. Don't know if you can still get them.

Sears Tape deck/Turn table skipping!

Hi the pennies will mess up the stylus. There should be an anti skate setting at the back of the turn table, a round adjustable bit with numbers, increase the anti skate and then use the balance weigth (weight right at the back of the arm that turns to get the weight right. Set the anti skate with the tone arm light, then increase the weight a bit. Hope that helps

Kenwood Turn table

And play then at the same time.....those stopped being produced for the consumer market since the 90s. You will need to find a manufacterer still making automatic turntables..start from there, those those turntables usually are hard on records and offer poor fidelity.
