I need to replace the fan in my ViewSonic Tablet 1250. We have removed the screws, but can't get the back off, which seems to be firmly attached at the center back. How do I open the TPCV1250P Tablet PC?

  • Anonymous Feb 10, 2010

I tried to pry open the tablet case, but was unsuccessful. I couldn't figure out how to get to any more screws. I took the tablet PC to a repair shop. The solution was to remove the monitor, motherboard, the keyboard, the piece above the keyboard, and more hidden screws to get to the fan position.

Hello,

since you have removed the screws, you need something like a flat screw driver to forcefully open the cover from the side/edge of the tablet PC

The cover is kind of clipped together and some force needs to be applied to get it opened.

Also, check all around the Tablet PC for screws (tiny or hidden). And open every sticker on it because some screws might be hidden under the sticker.

Take care

How do I get my trio to go back to the home screen?

It could be that your touchscreen (digitizer) is PARTLY broken.
To confirm, try rotating your tablet 180 degrees, and then touch the home button again.
If it works when rotated then you need a new touchscreen.
I hope you are good with precision tools, and have good mechanical skills and instincts: it's a rather intricate job to locate the locking tabs and screws that attach the touchscreen to the insides of the tablet, then remove them, and finally to replace a touchscreen. And then reattach all necessary fasteners, and test whether it will work properly.
EASIER FIX: go to Ebay and buy a used Trio tablet. it may cost you only $40 to $50 maybe even less!

Hi! How do I replace a Viewsonic V1250 tablet pc screen. Mine went completely black with no picture.

If the screen does not have a cracked glass, then it maybe a back-light problem, maybe a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. These components are much cheaper to replace than the whole LCD screen.

Tablet PC 2005 Input Panel won't work.

Are you pressing down firmly enough? If not, sounds like the digitizer may have a problem... The digitizer is the layer in front of the lcd, it's job is to pick up the signal from your pen and send it to the motherboard. The motherboard should have two connections to the screen, one to the lcd itself and another to the digitizer. If you remove the screws on the bottom of the tablet you can take off the keyboard and see if both are connected right.

TC1100 keyboard replacement info

If you are replacing the keyboard component (i.e. the actual keyboard) the process is straightforward. You will need jeweller screwdrivers as the srew (torque and philips are quite small):
1. remove all outside screws on the back of the keyboard
2. as per wkuk above you (thanks!) you will see 4 small covers
3. Pop the covers off with a pin they are lightly glued on
4. Remove the 4 screws (philips head)
5. Turn the keyboard so the keys face the table
6. Separate the case exposing the back of the keyboard
7. There are two screws that need to be removed that hold the keyboard in
8. Remove the tape that holds down the ribbon cables
9. Two ribbon cables attach the the keyboard. Be VERY careful and disconnext the slim one from the existing keyboard. Disconnect the second cable from the keyboard body (as the kew keyboard will plug in there.
10. Remove the keyboard and replace with the new keyboard
11. Reverse the steps above.

The real key is to be careful with the cables. Hold the entire cable firmly as these types of connectors can tear. When you initially slowly remove the cables you will gain some idea of how far the cable goes into the connectors. Although I've done lots of fixes on hardware this was my first time doing my keyboard for my TC1100 and the start to finish was 15-20 minutes. If in doubt, take a phot of the keyboard after you've removed the keyboard.

Cheers,

David

Hp tc1100 memory location

If you flip your laptop over, make sure all power is turned off and the battery is out, Now look at underside of machine there should be one or two screws in a square cover, Just remove the screw or screws and take cover off, Now the modules are held in by two white or black tabs on either sides of the sticks, Just push the two lock down clips and the module should pop up, Pull straight back out and remove. Now when u are replacing with the new ones make sure they are the same speed. and better yet make sure its a matched set, and put back in the same way as they came out in reverse order. Make sure when you push them back into there slots that they are snugg and firm into place, Put battery back in hook power up and reboot you Hp. It should tell you there has been a memory change and ask you to push enter or any key to except and you are on your way to more memory, Thanks for looking and Happy Holidays To You And Your Family
