I have a Craftsman 8HP chipper/shredder with a Briggs motor. I don't have the manual. What type/weight of oil should I use in the transimission for the blades?
It's the large gray shredder with seperate inputs for limbs and light brush. The model plate is banged up, but the partial model number is ...19229.
The engine drives a pulley, and the chipper / blades run on a shaft supported by sealed bearings connected with a belt. The engine oil is a 30 weight.
If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/matt_8dbc24bf722649ac

The B & S Code is the date of Mfg. This engine was built in 1994 (first two digits rep. the year), Sept.( the next two digits rep. the month) and the second day of that month. Your engine was built on Sept.2,1994. Your chipper may be one year newer as the engine had to be installed after the date of mfg. Your welcome
