The polarizer on the blue lcd panel is fried due to excessive dust and heat. you may need to replace the whole optical engine. send it in to an infocus service center for repair. try www.avsolutionsny.com. they're really good.

Proxima c180.I keep getting bulb striking error.

take the lamp door off and look to see if the socket that the lamp plugs into has been pushed out of place. Very common problem with this model. If this is the case, you will have to remove the top cover and push this back into place so the lamp can plug into it completely. If this is not the case, then your lamp or ballast could be bad.

ASK PROXIMA C180 no power at all

if you take the lamp door off, pay attention to the "peg" on the lamp door to see where it depresses the safety switch. if you look it is a silver metal lever that this peg pushes in. plug the unit in and find something no conductive to push and hold the lever in. while holding the lever in push the power button. if the unit powes up then that means the lamp door has distortion from the heat of the lamp. you can try to find another lamp door, or you can get creative and find a way to meld some more plastic to the length of the "peg".

My ask proxima c180 does not power up. I have confirmed the power cable is firmly inserted. When I press the power button nothing happens

take the lamp door off and manually hold in the safety switch.(if you look at the lamp door and see the post, the post is what pushes the switch in normally) while holding the switch in, push the power button. try the button on the projector and the remote. if the unit powers up it means your lamp door is miss-shapen from the heat from the lamp. if this didn't fix you problem, you need a power supply.

ASK Proxima C180 Message saying :Lamp Didn't Strike"," Retrying" What can I do to fix this problem

if you know your lamp is good, make sure the connection on the lamp housing and the connector on the lamp itself are actually connected. sometimes when the lamp is installed the connection on the lamp housing is pushed out and the connection is not actually made. you can also reset the lamp hours and see if that works.

Black/dark line down the edge of the projected image.

the light tunnel is collapsing. you can purchase the part from, or send the projector in to, an infocus authorized service center. try av solutions in ny. they're pretty good.

if you do chose to do it on your own, buy the part (315-0053-01). the tunnel is a rectangular mirrored tube located under the colorwheel between the lamp and the lens.

Our Proxima Ultalight SV1 was displaying yellow on the screen for a while then while using it it made a slight pop then smoke started to pour out of all the vents.

the yellowing was the fried light filter on the blue lcd panel (due to excessive heat and dust). the lamp probably blew for the same reasons. unfortunately, you can no longer get parts for this model.

Yellow image produced by DP8200x

the light filter on the blue lcd is fried and needs to be replaced. it makes sure only blue light comes therough that lcd panel. when it's light is blocked from coming through, only the red and green lights can be seen, hence the yellowness (red light+green light=yellow light). it's common with lcd projectors. unfortunately, you can't buy that piece seperately. you need to buy the entire optical engine, which isn't cheap (almost $2000).

Have you checked your lens assembly? maybe loose, or the bulb may not be seated correctly giving on out of focus image.
