On the TV-use your finger to adjust the volume level, about midway, then use the remote to shut off the tv, then turn on tv with remote. Volume level should be better! If still not loud enough...using your finger on the tv...turn up volume & repeat remote steps.

I just bought a Coby home theater system 5.1 surround sound dvd/cd/ player model#765. I've got it all hooked up but I have one problem, when I want to listen to my tv stations through the home theater...

Hi - Your Home Theater System and your TV should have separate volume controls. You should be able to control each individually. Start by checking the volume level on your TV with your HTS shut-off. Turn the volume on your TV all the way down to 0.

Next, turn your HTS on and check the volume level there. Is it still loud? If so, try turning the volume down on your HTS. That should do the trick. If its not loud then you know you can control the volume on either the HTS or the TV. If this answer does not help, then please write us back with a little more detail. Thanks.

My remote works to the tv, but not to my direct tv box

Is the RC the original for direct tv box?, if not you have to find the code for the direct tv box, separate from the tv rc code.
if it is the original rc for direct tv, look for the code in the original papers from direct tv.

Volume Control is horrible - Sharp LC-32SB24U

If your using a remote control, try to replace the battery. if your just pressing the little buttons at the front of your tv, the buttons that your pressing is the faulty one. you must replace all those buttons in order for your volume to work perfectly. if you do not know how to do these, just have your tv repair by a professional tv technician. by the way, the little green k that your referring maybe the volume indicator

Direct TV remote does not control TV on/off or volume.

I have the same setup like you. Direct TV and Emerson LCD TV. The Direct TV remote stores a limited amount of codes and none worked on my TV. Sadly it's not something you can update. They seem to only stick with the popular codes. Welcome to the "head of the curve" like me. lol

Code for Direct TV remote control

Program AV1 with 20695, program TV with 10765, then switch to AV1, press select/mute, enter 933, and press select

This will allow volume and mute controls while in DTV mode and allow power on and off while in TV mode. This worked for me on the RC32 remote control.

Best of luck
