I have a garmin nuvi 350. It suddenly quit. It would not power up. I bought new car charger and wall charger specifically for nuvi 350. Both charger would not power up the gps at all. Is my battery dead or the gps is kaput?

This unit comes with a charger (AC). There is alxo a car charger. Both have a USB connecter that plugs into the side of your unit.

If its not connected to an external power source, then your battery is shot.

Should not do this when connected to an external power souce like the DC car charger or AC wall charger.

It would appear that the fuse in your charger has blown. Instructions on how to replace it can be found at http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/support/searchsupport

I solved the problem by charging internal battery using the 120V. charger that came with the unit. I was not aware, that the cord in car was not charging my Nuvi and that it was running OK. until the battery was low and quit. I have to check this cord. Peter W.

Yes, the battery is rechargeable and can be charged (3) ways:

1. Car charger.
2. Wall charger.
3. USB cable (less advisable due to current limits of USB port).

A new Nuvi is shipped with all (3) charger/cables. Overnight charginging is ideal.

A new 350 in the box should include a USB adapter, car adapter and AC wall charger.

It will charge faster with the car adapter or wall adapter. You can buy these accessories on eBay. Did you get the window mount?

A new 350 includes the window mount & dash mount pad. Again, you can get these off of eBay. Here's a link you can try:

You're still in warranty. Send it back to Garmin.

Sounds like a very dead battery, have you charged it with the wall socket yet? Are you sure the car charger works?

Did you get the new DVD, did you make sure nothing else is running (also taskbar objects), and you are not using a usb hub?

Yes. There are 3 ways to charge the Nuvi. Computer USB cable, 120VAC transformer wall plugin, and the cigarette lighter DC 12V plug for your car.
