You say you have used ethanol. I don't know if you also putit in the gas tank as well as the carb. However, regular of the shelf ethanol from a paint store is not the ethanol to use. hat ethanol is hydrated, ( has water in it ). You need to use anhydrous ethanol or gaslineanti freeze. asfar as what to put down the carb, you should be using quick start. ( Tha is ether and is very flamable!!!! ) only spray that while turning the engine over. To check what that clear fluid is in the tank somehow take a sample of it and try to disolve table salt in it. If is it oil the salt will not disolve. If it is wate it will. Please don't just put the salt anywhere near the carb. or the gas tank.

I suspect it is water because oil and gas mix. water and gas do not. The anhyrous ethanol in the tank will adsorb the residual water and mix with the gas and burn off in the cylinders.

Good Luck!

What do I need to do to get fire to my plugs I changed plugs will turn over but no fire

Start from your plugs and work your way back. Next thing to check would be your plug wires, and/or your coilpacks.

Mercruiser boat 1989 3.7l/LX 4 cyl. 3&4 cyl is not firing. New plug . Contact Pt.wires, distributor cap.start right away,

Try to ensure you have the correct PT Wires connected in the right order of firing, This should be on the side of the engine near the top either side it can on, I am sure that is your problem. Best Wishes. Malcolm Campbell.

I am working on a 1993toyota Corolla 1.8 no fire changed whole distributed assembly tested power coming to coil it's good still no spark checked all fuses there ok any sugestions

if the coil is tested fully and is good where have you checked for it being good? have you checked if the HT lead from the coil to the distributor is carrying power? If you have power at the distributor cap , all the contacts are good, the rotor is fine, (check current at the distributor cap centre pin) then the likely problem is the machanism for firing, i.e. Hall sensor . I would check all the HT leads, distributor cap, rotor etc. you should carry out the checks systematically. I.E. First check at the coil with a multi meter. Then check at the end of the Ht lead from coil to distributor , actually within the lead itself , for current. then attach it to distributor if it shows a current...if you are getting a current from the distributors centre pin the issue is probably the cap itself, the rotor arm, the firing system, it will probably be electronic as mechanical distributors went out some years before I think. or if that is okay, the leads themselves. I would guess that is is distributor cap or firing system related'

Crank but no fire

on any car always check ur fuses first... and ifthat does't work then check your distributor by taking out a spark plug from only one cylnder and put it in the plug and lay it on the block. then turn your key as if to crank it and c if ur getting a spark from the spark plug. if u aren't, then its either the distributor cap, a worn rotory button inside the distributor cap or it could be the moduel inside the distributor which would then mean youll have to replace the whole distributor
