Sometimes, some low grade UPSs come with COM port... but does not work readily with the software they provide

Try to identify the circuit they have used (u may open it at will)

Which buying the UPS they will provide one cable which connects to the COM port of the CPU ... take it and connect it and then install the drivers and software which is given by manufacture while buying...
then it should work.......

My memory stick is not working or being recognised by the computer - help please


First connect your memory stic to other computer if it works there thne it has not any issue.
Then connect in your computer on which not recognized .
Then opem my computer if you can't see any removable storage then right click on my computer then go to its proeprty then hardware then device manager.
Then uninstall all usb drivers then restart computer then check .
If still face same issue then right click on my computer then click on manage thne go to disk management.then removable media/
check there if you find removable storage then right click on it then open or explore it.
if you still not recognized then when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del' key to enter in BIOS.
Then go to advanced in bios then set LEGACY 2.0 enabled. then save settings and exit.
then check.
Aslo check your computer usb ports are working fine.

Insignia digital keychain from Best Buy cannot download program


Plugin the keychain to the USB
The keychain shows up as a CD Drive in My Computer.
Open up the drive
Copy the file ImageViewer4.exe to the Desktop
Run ImageViewer4.exe by double clicking on the file
The pictures have to be in the folder My Pictures; they will not work within a folder that is inside the My Pictures folder
Now you should be able to select and add your pictures from the My Pictures folder
If you still get an error, click on the Format Device button and then try the above again.

Ikasu wireless keyboard and mouse


Hi I have IKASU W-K-with trackball. I run Vista i just pluged it in and windows found the drivers.I allso run Driver Detective.Hope this helps.dave

Your description is pretty vague, so after making several assumptions I came up with this: In Windows? Click Start, then Run and type "msconfig", then select the Start Up tab and deselect the application in question then click Apply and then Ok. You'll then be prompted to restart your PC, after which on restart you'll get a box stating that you've changed your configuration, just check the box at the lower left corner and click ok and you won't see it again. Be very careful not to make any other changes in the utility except for items in Start Up and don't disable your Anti Virus, Firewall, or anything else you do want starting with Windows while making changes there.

Good luck and I hope you were referring to stopping an application from starting with Windows?

Hi,

You can fix it by doing this. but first you need to make sure you leave your house for at least 4 hours so you don't have to be hearing that frigging noise, IT CAN BE DONE! i fixed it.
my unit would start beeping as soon as I plug it in wall, and red light come on, the software is telling me the battery is unplugged
this is what i did in order.
1. unplug all cords, connected to the unit, and power cord to the wall.
2. hold the power button
3. still holding the power button, Connect it to wall. (red light would be on but no beep)
4. I watched TV for 6 hours, red light still flashing
5. disconnect from wall
6 connect back to wall

I heard the unit click one time and green light came on, is charging now....

I don't know why this is posted in UPS problems, but anyway...
Try two things--the easiest is to turn off (unplug from power) your router and your modem. Let sit a few minutes, turn back on, then see if that has done the trick.

If that doesn't work, you may simply need to go to network and sharing center if you have Vista, click on "connect to a network", and see if your router is found as a wireless connection available to you. If it is, just click on it, and you are in business. If you can't find your router via the windows utilities, (various other things to do are in "help"), you may have to
reconfigure your router setup by resetting your router to its virgin state--usually by pushing a paper clip into the reset hole in the router--usually mentioned in the directions. Then just reconfigure it according to directions, and you are in business.

Ok, but anyway I am still to help you, Is it the problem goes to the manual installation you need or the driver instead?

Printers used to be the bugbear of computer users. They were difficult to set up and ornery in operation. That's no longer the case and it's likely you'll have no problems getting your printer up and running. This is particularly the case if your printer comes packaged with your computer system or if you stick to well-known brands such as Hewlett-Packard, Epson, Lexmark and Canon.
Connecting a printer involves four steps:
  1. Unpacking your printer, removing any packaging material and installing the ink or toner cartridge. Refer to your printer's instructions to guide you.
  2. Connecting the printer cable to the printer and to the back of your computer.
  3. Connecting the printer's power cord to a power outlet.
  4. Installing the printer driver and any additional software. The printer driver is a piece of software that tells your computer how to interact with your printer.
If your printer comes as part of your system, you may find that its driver is already installed. In that case, all you'll need to do is unpack it, connect the printer cable and power cord and switch on your computer.

You'll need the correct type of cable for your printer: If it's a USB-enabled printer, you need a USB cable (note, the new USB 2 cables work with older USB 1 printers, too; so if in doubt, get a USB 2 cable); if it's a parallel printer, you'll need a parallel cable.
Make sure you get a cable long enough to reach easily from your printer to your computer. Follow the wizard If your printer's software has not been pre-installed, read any installation instructions that accompany your printer and follow those instructions. If no instructions are provided, follow this procedure:
(Note: This procedure applies to printers which use a parallel connection. If your printer uses a USB connection, you should connect it while Windows is running and it will be recognised.)
  1. Make sure you have your original Windows CD-ROM handy. You may need it.
  2. Switch the computer off.
  3. Connect the parallel printer cable to your computer.
  4. Connect the printer's power cord to a power outlet.
  5. Switch on the printer and the computer.
  6. In most cases, Windows will detect that you've attached a new hardware device and it will launch the Add Hardware Wizard and attempt to search for the appropriate software. If the wizard doesn't launch and Windows appears to ignore your printer, you can launch the Add Printer wizard yourself by clicking the Start button, selecting Control Panel, clicking Printers And Other Hardware, and then clicking Add Printer.
  7. If the printer is directly connected to your computer, select the Local Printer Attached To This Computer option. If you will be connecting to the printer via a network connection, select the Network Printer option, then click Next.
  8. The wizard will first try to search for any Plug and Play devices (these are components that should, by rights, automatically notify Windows when they're first connected). If the wizard discovers your printer, it will display further instructions to complete the installation. You may need to restart your system to finish.

Hi Malcom,

The HP3420 is connected to your PC through the USB port and not through the LPT1/parallel port.

You have to change the port setting. Go to Start, Printers, right click on HP3420, click on Properties, go to the Ports tab, check/select USB, OK.

Alternately, you may have to re-install the drivers for the HP3420 and allow the program to Search for the printer connection. Clicking on the button Stop Searching will auto install it again to LPT1.
