First : if this started after a new disposal was installed then you need to check the Knock out on the disposal located inside the pipe that sticks out of the disposal where you conect your dishwasher drain hose. ((((( Common Problem )))))

Ok, moving on, your dishwasher has a independent drain pump. if you know the noise of the drain pump and you do not here it. its a good chance that its bad and you can disconect it and put a volt metert to the 2 wires and check for 110V. of coures after you have your volt meter in place and ready to go you will then put your diswasher in drain and check your meter.

Here is a breakdown of a dishwasher with a simialr model number. # 60 is the drain pump.

Should any water remain under the glass trap after cycle has finished on a frigidaire dishwasher?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you want to know if any water should remain under the glass trap, on your Frigidaire dishwasher, after the cycle has finished. Per the owner's manual, "it is normal to see a small amount of water under the filter at the end of a cycle." Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

When my dish washer discharge water instead of the water going out the drain it come out the overflow valve.

The dishwasher usually drains into disposal, or directly into tailpiece, and water drains down to the p-trap.
Trap may be clogged or stopped up.
Clean out drain line, tighten connection where dishwasher attaches.
Clean out bottom of disposal under cutter blade.
Copy following link for clogged disposal, and drain line tips.

Water remains in bottom of unit after cycle

Mike Mulenberg, There are a couple of possibilitieshere are some answers. Lets look at the easy free fixes first. 1. If the dishwasher drains into the garbage disposal the disposal may be clogged.Unclog disposal.2. Look in the the bottom of the dishwasher and see if the catch basin is full. there are two screens in the bottom.3. See if there a kink in the drainage hose. also be sure that it does have a loop in it. (like up to the top of the cabinet and back down)if it does not it will not drain completely4.Check the p trap in the pipe that the dishwasher drains into to see if that is partially blocked. this also can lead to water left in the dishwasher.

hope this helps Joe Connolly[email protected]

Water left in compartment

You need to elevate your dishwasher drain hose under the sink. The water going down your disposal side is running down the hose into the dishwasher.

Standing water in the bottom of the dishwasher

I had the same problem - a 10 minute fix. The issue tends to be that the trap gets clogged by debris (like broken glass etc.) and restricts the amount of water that can be evacuated by the tub.

1. Undo the trap cover (two hex headed screws)
2. Remove the trap cover
3. Remove the inner trap grate
4. BE CAREFUL NOW ! Gently remove debris - this can have broken glass in it !!! - You can use a wet vac if you have one. Ensure all debrs is removed and the trap is clear.
5. Clean trap cover and grate
6. Re-install cover and grate
7. Bingo !

Glasses in top rack not getting clean anymore.

-Have you changed the dishwasher soap recently? What are you using? Is the powder remaining behind in the soap dispenser?
-Have you removed the filter in the sump area, cleaned it and removed any debris under the filter. (watch out for broken glass that is almost always found in 5 year old dishwashers.)

-You are running water at the sink until it gets hot, but you may still have problems if the heating element has failed. Recommend you check that element. If you can get to the element, check resistence of the heater to see if is has any at all.
If heating element checks out good, the next common problem is a failing wash pump motor.

Garbage disposal spouting water after turned off

Hello, turn on the disposal without water and pour hot water into disposal. Be careful not to let it splash back on you! If this doesn't help you have to remove the drain and drain trap and clean them out. If you need more help let me know. Good luck.

Dishwasher does not drain properly

one of your problems could be your drain line is clogged with grease and debris from previous uses, the other problem could be if you had your disposal recently replaced the drain knockout on the disposal wasn't knocked out. In normal use of a dishwasher at the end there is always some water left in the sump area of the pump so seals and check valve baffles won't dry out and crack. Hope this helps.
