What should be done to upgrade to windows 7 HP P2050 Series j510a

Are you using a new computer or doing an OS upgrade?

For a new computer, before you connect the printer's USB cable to the computer, download the full software package from HP's site: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=4027469& . Select whether you have the 32-bit or 64-bit OS and click Next. Expand the section marked Driver and select the full software package. After downloading, install the software. You will need to accept the UAC warning.

When prompted to do so, connect the USB cable. If you do not install the HP software first, you will get a Windows generic driver that will let you print but not enable the other features of the all-in-one. The HP basic driver will work but won't let you launch a scan from the all-in-one.

If you are upgrading your OS, then it depends on the type of upgrade. From Vista to Win7, with matching versions (both 64-bit Home or both 32-bit Business/Pro), just make sure to install any updates. If you are doing a different upgrade, disconnect the USB cable and treat it as a new computer.

I hope this helps.

After formating my LE50 computer, the sound and wireless function are disabled, I wanted to download from the site, but its too slow and not downloading, what do you advise?

Hello,

The majority of your drivers will need to be updated in order to use all of the hardware. If you did not get a copy of them beforehand, then your only solution would be to download them from a friend or relatives computer download the drivers and burn them to a cd or put them on a flash drive (If your usb ports are working).

If you have an ethernet cable and wire your computer straight to the router provided your NIC card isn't working, you shouldn't have problems downloading the drivers just fine.

Slow

Try testing the system (if a Dell or HP, there will be diagnostics available in the BIOS or during boot up). If everything passes the diagnostics, then you can either provide more details on when its slow, how its slow, when it started being slow, what may have happened prior to it being slow (dropped, updates, new software, antivirus, etc.), OR back up all your software and files and use the PC Restore to reinstall/restore to factory condition.

Hey my name is ashley

Hi Ashley, first go to Windows update to see what updates Windows needs. The other possible upgrade may just be to go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Turn Windows Features On/Off and check all of the boxes that are unchecked. Since you have a server operating system many features may be off by default. your friend, Steve Medley
