Upgrade the processor on a Toshiba equium l40 series from a celron M

I've just replaced the dvd drive on my Toshiba equium and was wondering if i can upgrade to a faster processor such as a duo, can this be done and how? cheers Steve

The core2 duo chips will be a different socket to your celeron cpu so can do that unfortunately. You may be able to upgrade to a faster cpu of the same socket type but will probably need a bios update for it to run at proper speed.

Unfortunately laptops arent really designed to be upgraded at all bar extra ram/hd/dvdrw.

I have a Equium L40-17M, 2gig ram dual core pentium. Its not a celeron though, are you sure its not a L30 Equium

Update the drivers and check, also try and use a lens cleaner on the drive and if the DVD does not read then the drive is faulty and must be replaced.Finally you can check this on another PC to confirm.

Did it work before? What was changed since? If it did, does a mouse work? If so, goto system and uninstall the pad, reconnect the pad and reboot. Driver may have been corrupted.
