Hi Please help,
My dryer is really noisy after about a minute, it sounds like a grinding noise. It looks like the back left hand side of the drum is touching against the back of the dryer. Its only 4 weeks out of it guarentee and i really dont want to pay out lots of money.
I purchased a hotpoint washing machine on the same day, which broke last week and only got fixed on Wednesday :( I really cant afford any more repairs so any help would be very greatfully recieved!

My best guess is that the back bearing has worn out. If it has been starting to make noise awhlie ago, and this noise has increased over time, then this confirms my suspicion. I have replaced one of these myself, but it takes a little work. You have to remove the back panel of the dryer. One part gets replaced on the back center of the drum and the other part gets replaced on the back of the back panel. With this repair, your dryer will have a new life, and should work like new.

Thanks for the reply, i took it a part as armed with your advice, like it qualifys me as an indesit engineer!
To cut a long story short i was quick to realise that i dont really know what im doing, started to put it together again and couldnt so i kicked the stupid thing in sheer frustration and it worked! lol
ive now just finished all the house full of wet washing left after the washer got fixed, so least thats something. I know it will probably return and your advice is accurate but i shall keep kicking it till payday at least!
