Does the screen have a crack or broken glass?
If not it maybe just a back-light problem and it could be a faulty inverter or a CCFL lamp. These components are cheaper to replace than the whole screen.

T23 2647 Think pad AC power adapter lost

Hi,

No. You must use a power supply that is 16 volts or that is specified to be used with the laptop.
You can find the information about the power consumption (volts and amperage) underneath the laptop. If it says 16 volts then you MUST use a 16 volt power supply.
If you try using a 19 volt power supply you run the risk of damaging the motherboard or blowing the motherboard completely.

Regards.

PASSWORD COMOS IBM THINK PAD R50

Hi, If you are talking about the Boot, HDD, Bios password, then the only one way to recover it is to implement a chip on the systemboard to shorcut the protection or to contact Lenovo for a systemboard replacement. Unfortunalty, no other ways other round. Thanks and have a nice day J-

I have a ibm think pad laptop. the text has gone red

You have a TFT failure - to confirm if it is not m/board related plug and external monitor to the external vga port and boot the unit. If the display to the external is ok then your TFT requires replacement.

My IBM T23 Laptop screen keeps going off (hibernating or sleeping?)

What operating system you running? I assume XP. If you go to start > settings > control panel > Power options (I think). You can change the options on how long before the screen turns off and stuff in there. For the other problem just right click on your desktop, and click "Properties". Adjust the screen resolution there.
