How do i flip an image to print on fabric transfer? I am using a mac and a Lexmark x5470

Use the drawing software on the image. Most image software has a flip image.
Image viewer programs.
Photoshop > image > rotate image > flip
Paint shop Pro > Image > Flip

What is the version of your Mac operating system? It would be best that you uninstall any existing printer driver first > reboot your computer > then reinstall the printer driver.

Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark X5470 Printer Driver on your computer. Select your operating system > click on "FILTER" > click on the driver under Recommended Downloads > download and execute the file. Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete the installation.

Then try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

Try to uninstall your existing printer driver. Then, reboot your computer after the uninstall process.
Once your computer comes back on, visit the Lexmark website to download the Lexmark X5470 printer driver for Mac 10.6 at http://bit.ly/yRg5X8.

Usually you use your software to flip the image before you send the file to the printer. Thus, what program are you using to create the fabric transfers?

This is easiest if you are dealing with an image. Find the command section for layouts and then choose flip or rotate horizontally. For example in Paint, the Rotate drop-down is part of the main ribbon below Crop and Resize. If you are trying to do a line of text, use a drawing program and write the line of text. Select it and then flip it. Write all of the lines of text and repeat the rotation for each one. Similarly do this for any images or lines of images.

When finished, print a test page on regular paper before using the fabric transfer paper.

(Publisher in Office or similar programs will also do this well.)

If you are using images from a file, import it into an appropriate software program to do the rotation then save it to a new file name before printing.

(some printers have the mirror image option in the Advanced Settings. Not many of the ones that I have used have the feature.)

Make sure to clear any print jobs stuck in the queue first before trying to print again. If you're using Windows, follow the steps below.


If you're using Mac, launch Terminal and simply type cancel -a -
Before trying to print again, make sure the printer driver is properly installed. You can download the latest Lexmark X5470 driver from the Lexmark website for free. Make your Lexmark printer your default printer.
You can also try to unplug and replug the printer to the power source to reset it. This seems to fix minor communication issues.

When you want to print both sides of a page, when you go into the 'Print' command click on 'Properties' and another windows opens. Select 'Print Layou' and you will see a box marked 'Two-Sided' - click this box. The other option is if you want to flip from the top or turn from the side, like a book. Select which way (I use side flip) and click OK, which brings back to the start and click OK to print. Once the pages have printed you will still need to rotate the pages and place them back in the printer; there will be an instruction page printed halfway thru to show you which way to place the balance of the pages in the printer.
Might sound tuff, but once you've done it a coupla times, you won't even need to print the halfway intrsuction sheet. Good luck. Cheers.

I would like to inform you that Lexmark X5470 is not a wireless printer. However, if you want it to use wireless then you should have a Lexmark N4050e 802.11g Wireless Print Server.

Hello I think I can help you. I Would not use T shirt transfer when you make up your print I would select poster print or any other form that does not automatically reverse the image. The reason your software is designed to do this is on the regular transfer paper your laying the image down on the shirt, so for it to come out right it has to be reversed. With the dark T shirt transfer paper your peeling off the backing and putting the image face up on the T Shirt.

There aren't any Mac drivers for this printer. I think you are out of luck. I know that some newer Lexmark printers do have Mac drivers (like X5470, or the X4550), you might try and dump this one on a Windows friend and buy something else.
