The comfort alert control modules fail and will not allow any action to the unit. I've bypassed them and it worked fine but then you don't have that safety to lean on. The alert senses high or low amperage/voltage to the compressor (if I recall correctly) only. If you have 24v to the alert module, and you have allowed time for the delay to pass (usually 3-5 mins), and the module is not sending 24v to the board, then that module has probably given up. If you have 24v at the board then the problem is at the board or one of the safeties connected to it. I've had the sales rep and the parts house manager both tell me that the alert module is a poor design. Its just as simple to bypass the alert and install a delay on make/break timer unless its still under warranty.
there is a fuse on the board which is very hard to see it is a three amp automotive style fuse most people cant find it it is purple in color look very closely using a flashlight
For the system to work, there must be 240 vac present on one side of the contactor.The thermostat sends a 24 vac signal to the contactor causing it to close, and sending the 240 vac to the compressor and condenser fan. I would locate the source of power to the outdoor breaker and make sure that there are not loose or broken wires. Please note that the outside unit will probably have a power source that is separate from the indoor portion. Hope this helps. Dano
Usually the Red wire provides 24v and connects to the R termenal-
Next the Green wire is to the indoor blower motor and connects to G terminal-
Next the Yellow wire is to the outdoor unit to call for cooling and will engage power to the contactor solenoid to pass 240v power to compressor and power to Start/Run capacitor and fan! It will connect to the Y terminal-
Next is the White wire an it calls for Hea and is connected to the W terminal-
If you have an Orange wire it is for the reversing valve of a heat pump system.
Remember the red feeds 24v to each of these colored wires to complete a connection and pass power to the device being called into action.
BLue or Black wire will be ground if the thermostat needs power instead of batteries.
Red wire is the only hot 24v wire going to the thermostat period! And it comes from the Transformer!
Check to make sure it has 240V and the breaker is on. the relay will pull in with 24v from the furnace board calling for cooling.Sounds like a power issue
does the mobile home have a modular duct system? i have converted a mobile home from a split system to a package unit and all i did was wire the package system outside 240v and 24v thermostat and we connected the existing ductwork that was in the house already to the package unit . not really sure about the code because we didnt have any requirements but it runs like a champ ..
Sounds like you lost the refrigerant charge. Low pressure switch will not let compressor run. Look for oil around the condenser tubes. If you find it, this is probably the leak source.
