When I turn on my pantech matrix phone it will show the green bar but then it freezes and i would take out the battery and the sim card over and over again and nothing works what should I do?

you can't jailbreak a sim card but you can unlock the pantech

Try your reset button. It is around or under the battery. It is usually a small hole. You might need to use the end of a paper clip. If this fails, see your provider.

This problem arises sometimes because the mobile is unable to read the SIM. May be you should fold a small piece of paper in the same size of the SIM and keep it on top of the SIM and then insert the Battery. I think this will solve your problem.

Check to see if you SIM card is inserted correctly or if its loose. If that doesn't work you will unfortunately have to get a new SIM card. They run, I think, about 20 bucks.

Try performing a hard-reset. Take the battery out of the phone for at least a minute and hold down the power button for at least ten seconds afterwards. Replace the battery and turn the phone on, and it will have hopefully cleared up the problem.

To enter the SIM unlock code, do the following:
1. Put AT&T SIM card in C740
2. Turn on
3. Enter *#865625# on idle screen
4. SIM Unlock Process - Click Yes.
5. Enter 8 digits unlock code and click OK (soft key)

7. Unlock Process Complete
