Comment by BIGMAMA1600, posted on Jul 10, 2007 Your answer seems very helpful but there is one other problem. I was trying to disassemble the phone but the screw heads are so small I do not have a screwdriver small enough to fit the head. I tried using the screwdriver that comes with an eyeglass repair kit nd even that was not small enough. Where can i find a screwdriver that could fit the heads of the very small screws in this C300? ________________________________________________________________________ ______________Best Solution posted on Jul 08, 2007 By Priority1 Rank: Master Rating: 78.18%, 11 votes How wet did it get? Was it submerged? The backlight would normally shut off after a short idle period or when you close the cover. If it is staying on all the time after water damage then there is still water in a component (like a capacitor) or corrosion that has opened or shorted a circuit path somewhere confusing the phone. There is a good chance that corrosion will become worse and do more damage. New problems could arise any time in the next few days or few years. If this were my phone I would disassemble it and clean it with rubbing alcohol, toothbrush, and air duster but there is some risk even for someone experienced. Also, microphones can be damaged by fluids including rubbing alcohol. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ posted by BIGMAMA1600 on Jul 08, 2007 Report abuse MY CELL PHONE GOT WET. I USED A BLOW DRYER AND PLACED IN A BOWL OF RICE FOR A FEW HOURS. THE PHONE WORKS BUT THE BACKLIGHT IS STAYS ON WHERE THE FLIP IS OPEN OR CLOSED. HOW CAN I MAKE THE BACKLIGHT GOT OFF (IF THAT IS POSSIBLE)?
I used a micro screw driver set that can be purchased at Home Depot. There are two hidden screws: one on the top piece where the display is and one on the bottom piece where the keyboard is. The hidden screw on the top piece is under a silver rubber circle at center bottom of piece. The hidden screw on the bottom piece is under a silver rubber water drop shape located by the antena. These rubber covers can be removed by wedging them out with a mirco flat screw driver or pin.
Good luck...

How do I disassemble my Pantech C300? It has recently suffered some water damage and so I want to take it apart in order to clean it with rubbing alcohol. I got the four screws off from the back side underneath where the battery goes, but the phone will not separate. It seems to still be connected near the top. Is there a way to take it apart?
