SOURCE: Replacing Drive Shaft for a Ryobi 725r

The lower flex shaft should cost around $40, unless you order it online and have to pay shipping. You should be able to get one from your local MTD dealer. (Ryobi is owned by MTD)

SOURCE: replacing fuel lines on ryobi 767r trimmer

The longest, and sometimes smaller in diameter of the two fuel lines, goes from the carburetor to the bottom of the tank. Leave enough slack in this line so that the filter that attaches to the end will rest comfortably at the bottom of the tank.

The other fuel line goes from the primer bulb to just inside the tank, (about an inch). make sure that you get the right size fuel lines. The plastic coupling goes on the end of this line, inside the tank. This keeps the line from pulling out of the tank.

(HINT): When feeding the lines through the tank holes, cut the lines at an angle. They will feed much easier into the holes. You can than cut them off square, once you know that you have enough to work with.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

SOURCE: Ref: Stihl FS46 string trimmer. Broken Flex shaft.

Remove orange sheild, remove single screw holding head in shaft then grab head with pliers and twist side to side until complete head is free. You should then be able to grab part of shaft. On power head loosen screws {about one turn each} that hold two white case halves near trigger,I think there are four, then there is a single torx screw on the bottom of lower case half in the middle that must be taken out to allow tube to be removed.Romove flexshaft from top.Check 4 plastic burnt to flexshaft,if there is you must replace tube liner as well, usally around bent part of tube the liner will go bad.

Electric ryobi weedeater with good battery won't start

Ryobi Trimmers unscrew halfway down the shaft (so it fits in the box). If this gets loose, the trimmer will stop working. Simply tighten the connection between the upper and lower half.

I have ryobi rlt 30 strimmer and the shaft seems to be turning but the head has not got enough power in the shaft to turn the head and it all so seems to be vibrating where the shaft can be joined together...

For starters, check the condition of the LOWER flex- shaft.Remove the LOWER from the upper shaft, and while turning the string head, see if the top end of the flex shaft turns also. I think your unit has a clutch which makes diagnosing the flex shaft in the UPPER shaft housing (the one attatched to motor) a lot more difficult. If the upper flex-shaft is clutched, it WILL NOT turn when turning over the engine (unless the clutch is bad or has malfunctioned; which is rare). To inspect the UPPER flex-shaft, you will have to do a dissassembly (partial) at the motor housing cover in the front to pull the upper shaft out to inspect it. To get it all the way out to look at it, you will have to remove the throttle cable from the arm on the carb and disconnect the STOP switch wires going to the coil (located UNDER the front motor housing cover). Post back with what you find. Wish I was there to help.

How to remove trimmer head from ryobi 975r

It is reverse threaded so you have to turn it like you was tightening it to loosen it. Clockwise looking at it from the bottom of the head. But there is a clutch that will let the whole thing turne. The best way is to remove the shaft from the weedeater and hold the shaft with some vice grips. Or you may be able to hold it right above the head, before the shaft tube.

Runs but acts like in bind when gased

Did you recently take the shaft off of the trimmer? If so, you didn't get the drive shaft seated properly. You will have to take the shaft off again and try to seat the shaft again. You may have to pull on the rope slightly as you fit the shaft into place.

Starter cord tangled on shaft 3043ye

to remove the clutch remove the four screws that connet the trimmer shaft to the engine, remove the shaft. Then insert the correct torex head driver into the center of the clutch cover. There is a screw (the same head as the screws that holds the trimmer shaft on) Remove the clutch cover, insert a screwdriver into the engine cooling fins to hold the engine from rotating and turn the clutch from the engine. The clutch had a remove arrow to help with the direction to turn in order to remove.

The pull cord on my Ryobi 30cc trimmer broke. Is this true, that there is no way to access case to replace the pull cord? This has been my difficulty! There seems to be no way to reach clutch springs,...

If you have the same kind of clutch as my cs30 week wacker, then there is a screw at the end of the shaft that the clutch sits on. The screw is down inside and requires a star shaped screw driver to turn. When I tried to turn it, the engine kept turning. I had to open the back part of the engine in order to put a screw driver in it to stop it from turning.
