I've transfered games onto my sd card and put it into my r4 but it says Menu? when i put my r4 card into my ds. I need step by step please :)

Hi Shaw,

This problem is likely because the latest Nintendo based firmware doesn't actually support old R4 and fake R4i cards, only very specific R4i cards support it (namely the official R4i 3DS). You can probably swap your R4 card for a newer card like the Acekard 2i, Supercard DSTWO, Cyclo DS iEvolution, or frankly any of a number of cards that will work on the new DSi XL and 3DS consoles. I would personally recommend the Supercard DSTWO, though, I use it myself. It also has GBA emulation built-in which is kind of awesome if you want to play older games. The Acekard 2i is cheaper, but doesn't have the GBA functionality.

I'm not sure where you're based but if you're in the US, use "dsmagazine" as a voucher (I found this on an online DS news site) for DSCardWorld.com, they're authorised retailers of the Acekard and Supercard - I think also a few others. NDS-gear.com is probably better if you live in the Europe or in the UK though since they have cheaper shipping there. They still stock authentic cards so you should be all right either way.

Good luck, and please kindly upvote my answer if you've found it useful! :-)

Hi downloaded art academy which is on r4i gold card starts to load but stops , have transfered rom onto r4 card and plays on dsi fine can any one help

I'm afraid the R4i Gold card is a fake, and if you've updated your console to the latest 1.4.2 or 1.4.3 firmwares it's unlikely to work. Check out R4 DS Revolution Cards at www.r4dsrevolutioncards.com (info site) to differentiate between different versions of R4i cards and make sure you buy a genuine one!

A lot of the fakes will indeed work when you buy them but as soon as you update your console they'll stop working. Make sure you buy a real one in the future to avoid frustration!

Good luck!

I have just bought a dsi i want to know can i transfer the games off a r4 card to a r4i card

Yes, you can transfer games of of an R4 card b copying them to a computer (you can also copy the .sav files, too) and then on to the R4i card. For installing the kernel, I have written a guide for anyone who wants to know how to correctly install the R4i Kernel, just visit my profile and the link is there.

Why do the games take a long time to load from my r4i card, when I transfer the game onto the r4 card and try it in the ds lite there are no problems?

I have the same problem, i have no trouble putting games onto a r4 or a dstt card, but it is a lot slower with some games, not all games, when putting them onto a r4i or a dstti, i think the problem is the i cards are still in the early stages of development, i think as time goes on the people who make these cards will sort the problem out, i hope, in the meantime we will just have to put up with it, all the games will play but some, but some are slower to load.

What software do i need to install so my r4i card so it will work on my sons dsi

The website that you purchased your R4 card will have the latest firmware for download. Download the package and move it to your sd micro card with the adapter provided. After you have the software on the card you will need to make some folders for your games and media. I know with the R4 revolution card there were a total of four files I had to copy to the micro card. I do not have a R4i card so there may be more folders to copy over to the card. It is fairly simple process. I know with my R4 card I am limited to size of the micro card ... you may want to check if the R4i card also has these limitations, but I don't think it does..... Hope this helps good luck

R4i card not playing games, just says loading

here is my first post on this subject http://www.fixya.com/support/t2417164-r4i_card_not_playing_games ok here we go!!!!!!rusty on this!!! so ur card is working but games no.. well if ur emulators are not pacthed they wont start so patching the emulators will make sure its runs on ur R4 and make sure you download files for R4. here are the files and sites

http://hbnds.biohazardteam.org/ has emulators!! they let you play snes nes and more

http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/DLDI/#patchers ok go to the R4 files for this site ok and also it has the patching programs on the bottom Win32

extract the file ok get the dlltool32.exe file and drop it in a folder on your desktop and put the file for your R4 in the folder to and the emulator also then run program dlltool32.exe and chose the patch file you downloaded and the emulator file and run it! it should say patch success and now set the emulator and any files it came with and add games in the card and run it should work
