There is a pressure sensor that shuts down the compressor when it's empty follow the line from the compressor back to a switch or pigtail and if theres a switch, flip it then turn on ac, if pigtail unplug and jump the terminals and turn on ac, if the compressor kicks on then the refrigerant and possibly the oil leaked out of the system so you don't want to run the ac for more than the test if it's empty

Ac compresor not giting 12votts freon psi ok fuse or relay

My first guess would be the low pressure switch. It gets power from the relay.

I have a impala 2005 since I recharge the ac system, the compresor goes on and off.

That is normal behavior. As long as the AC is cooling. When it runs it builds up some pressure, then pauses running as the pressure bleeds off providing the cooling. When pressure drops to certain level it kicks back on.
If system was low on freon, then it may have run somewhat continously if there was not enough to build up reserve pressure.

We put freon in my 2004 stratus and my ac is coming out hot instead of cold. the compresor kicks on and off. we didnt have that problem before.

Im not sure, but have a suggestion. I have a 02, and my ac is blowing cold but, only through the defrost.. But, my car was fine until it ran hot. no heat this winter, and now this with the ac.. but, have your termostat checked

My 1994 honda civic wont turn on my a/c compresor. when i switch on the a/c the idle jumps up the down then up then down. anyone know what happening

This is being caused by a low charge in the AC system, the idle is due to the rapid kicking on and off of the AC compressor on the engine, each time the compressor comes on the computer raises the idle and then drops it when the compressor turns off. U have no cooling right? U have a leak in the AC, have the leak fixed and then get the system re-charged.

Ac compresor clutch

this isn't easy and you will need special tools.  You will most likely need to have the compressor on a work bench.
