I have a toshiba laptop and a friend gave me a kds rad-7c monitor. i see how i can connect the two computers. but, how or where do i plug in the ac adapter to the monitor so i can get it power? i have a female plug, but see no male outlets. the only outlets i see are labeled 'line in' & 'line out'. i don't see any other places to plug the adapter in. any help would be appreciated. i'm wondering if i even have the right plugs?? thanks!!

try to use another monitor power cord if is can turn on, otherwise immediately contact your monitor manufacturer to repair such device since it was struck by lightning
I agree that the overheat was the supply being too small. Not only the voltage rating is wrong, but I'd bet the amperage is alsotoo low for correct operation. Check this link. I have bought power bricks from them for laptops, monitors, and power tools - all good quality without breaking the bank. They ship pretty quickly as well. http://generalsaving.com/productfile/G_LCD12V3A/1000/G_LCD12V3A_z_0157.php
the power cord notes '12vdc' and back of the monitor notes 'dc 12v 4.0a'.
