I have a Whirlpool Gold Dryer, it stoped running, there is power to the Cotrol panel and I can select which cycle to use. Whenever I press the start button I hear a realy clicking but the unit does not start. What may be the probelem: heating element, fuse, control panel, .... Please help Thanks Jane

Hello there, I would try removing the control panel and check for broken wires in which mice we'll get in there and chew them. This is what happened to me.

PF - Power Failure - PF error code indicates a power failure during the dryer's cycle. Press and HOLD start to continue the cycle, or press off/pause to clear display.

sounds like you need to replace your timer, or either unplug the machine, an open the head panel an see if any wires are loose in there, changing the timer is an easy job, you should have no problems doing it ......good luck!

Is this a colipso dryer, I think that is how you spell it? If so then yes it very well could be a control board.

If it is new, is it not under warranty?
does it run ok on air dry? Is there good air flow?

You said, I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL DRYER. TURN THE TIMER SELECT ON. THEN TURN START KNOB TO ON, THEN PRESS THE SAME KNOB IN TO START CYCLE. YOU CAN HERE THE TIMER AND SOUNDS LIKE THE CONTACT IS WORKING, BUT CYCLE WON'T START.
