TomTom One 3rd edition - out of warranty, battery will NOT charge. Company says, sorry, nothing we can do, battery cannot be replaced. I thought this was a good product. What if any is my recourse?
The TomTom One 3rd edition battery can be replaced if you are up to some work on your part with the Li-ion Battery 1350mAh Black CS-TM600SL! You will need to take off the back of the tomtom first! Now the connector on the old battery wires are not the same as on the new battery so the wires need to be spliced and soldered back together using the old connector off of the old battery! The new battery will last about 2.75 hours! Don’t try this if your unit is under warranty! The tool to take off the back can be bought at any auto parts store for just a few dollars! And you will need a flat tipped screwdriver to pry the back off! The tool needed to is a soldering iron and solder! The new battery can be bought at E TechTronics.com! Good luck if you’re up to it! The original battery is not sold anywhere that I know or can find!
One thing I forgot was is you will need some liquid rubber to seal the wires or some rubber wire covers that shrink when heated hair dryer!
I did finally find a battery that was compatible with the tomtom one third editions, The TomTom ONE Li-ion Battery 1200mAh Black (CS-TM500SL) (F650010252) (3rd Party OEM Compatible) #26697SL With this battery all that is needed is to plug it in and place the new battery where the old one came out of and replace the back and charge it! This battery can be bought at E techtronics!
