My random feature only works in single folders and not ALL songs like the manual states. I am wondering if this is just a freak thing with this certain mp3 player or if this is the way the feature actually is the way it is supposed to be set up. Someone sent a solution saying go into play mode and put it on shuffle. The only problem is that there is no shuffle option in play mode. I am almost regretting buying this model for my daughter on her birthday on Christmas. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

While playing a song, press the Quick Options Menu button (small circle), you will see an option for "REPEAT", choose from:
No Repeat Play tracks in normal order and
no repeat.
One Play the current track repeatedly.
All Play all tracks repeatedly.
RandomAll Play all tracks in random order.
Dir Normal Repeat all tracks in the current
folder.
Dir Rep Repeat all tracks in all folders.
Dir Random Play folders in random order.
While a file is playing you can enter the Music Submenu by pressing the “M” button briefly. The Music Submenu allows you to adjust your repeat mode, amongst other things.
The Repeat Menu allows you to set your repeat mode. Choose from Normal, Repeat One, Folder, Repeat folder, Repeat all, Random, and Intro.
I had this problem as well. The only real solution I've found is to open up MY COMPUTER and go into the device. From there you can transfer all the music into one folder.
There is a RANDOM setting on the player but it will only randomize the songs within the folder you are listening to.
To put the player on RANDOM play a song, and press the button on the side of the player, select PLAY MODE and choose RANDOM.
Hope this was helpful.
Unfortunately with this mp3 player, it seems all the songs have to be in the same folder to be able to shuffle/randomly play through your songs. If you put all your songs in one folder, then you can randomize the songs.
Try going in to your player and creating a playlist.Go into your player through " My computer". When it brings up your main folders, right click on the music folder and click create playlist. All the songs you have will be bunched into one playlist.
Then while your player is paused, hit mode, scroll to the playlist you created and then set it to random play from there. Should work.
