Last night my Compaq desktop was working completely fine and I shut it down normally using windows. Now this morning the power button wont turn the computer modem on! There is a green light that is constantly on showing that there is power going through it and also the screen, printer, and speakers which are all plugged into the same surge protector all have power. Anyone have any ideas?

Try to umplug the modem from the motherboard last pci slot on the botom of the case if that works ok if not try new power supply if still not working problably bad motherboard thanks

Try draining the power of the computer first. completely shut it down by pressing poweer button for like 5-7 sec. then unplug power supply from the outlet. then press and hold power button for another 15-20 sec. After that, plug back in the power cord, and turn computer on normally.
