I lost my emails since I upgraded from windoows xp to windows 7

Features available through Yahoo! Mail include unlimited storage, the ability to view photos and videos from your inbox and the ability to send 50 files or 100MB worth of attachments in a single email.

You can also access Yahoo!'s instant messaging software from your inbox and check email on your mobile phone and other Internet-enabled devices.

Before signing up for Yahoo! mail, check its compatibility with your version of Internet Explorer.Standard Yahoo! Mail

Yahoo! Mail's standard interface works with Internet Explorer 7 and higher. However, Internet Explorer 7 users may be unable to use the reply bar, slideshows or Yahoo! Messenger from their inbox.

To access these features, use at least Internet Explorer 9. All Internet Explorer users must have Windows 7, XP or Vista to use the standard form of Yahoo! mail. Mac operating systems using Internet Explorer are not supported by the current version of Yahoo! Mail.
Older Option

Users who want to use Yahoo! Mail Classic will find it compatible with Internet Explorer 6, as well as newer versions of the browser.

Yahoo! announced to customers in July 2011 that it would soon stop supporting Internet Explorer 6. Yahoo! Mail Classic works with Windows 2000, XP and Vista, as well as Windows 7.

Yahoo! Mail Classic lacks many of the upgrades found in the current version of the email program.

Upgrades
While Yahoo! Mail supports older versions of Internet Explorer, the company recommends that users upgrade to the most current version.

Yahoo! says using the newest browser software provides more speed and added protection against viruses and software.
Enabling ActiveX

If you plan to use the current version of Yahoo! Mail on a Windows machine, you'll want to enable your computer's ActiveX controls so you can access all the features of the email program.

To do this, go to the "Tools" menu or the gear symbol in Internet Explorer, then select "Internet Options" and "Security."

Click on "Internet," then "Custom Level."
Scroll down to "Run ActiveX Controls and Plugins" and "Script ActiveX Controls Marked Safe for Scripting." Enable each of these options and save your settings.

Reboot Internet Explorer.

Just got a new laptop. want to make yahoo my home page. When I log onto computer thru internet explorer, i can;t bring up my mail. Not sure what the problem is. Help?

install the latest version of the Yahoo toolbar & see if that solves the problem. One of the options during installation is to include a mail add-in and to set Yahoo as the default mail. If you don't want to use the toolbar, it can always be hidden from view

Good Day Zoom66!

Mostly, inability to access certain buttons, pages freezing up and Yahoo crashing, is a sign of a weak internet browser. You need first to know what internet browser you are currently using. (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome are the most used internet browser)

Your internet browser is corrupted. And the best fix to solve your Yahoo mail problems is to upgrade your internet browser by installing a fresh and latest version.

Choose from the list below the most updated version of internet browser suited in your system.

Internet Explorer

Mozilla Firefox

Safari

Chrome

Download and please install in your system. Once you have installed it, run it and access Yahoo! mail. To access yahoo mail instantly,
go to https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_verify2?.intl=us&.src=ym

I can not get my yahoo mail to let me sign in. I will say that the email or password in not correct is correct. I have tryed the only 2 paswords that use.

Good Day Mamarose!

You should try to sign in on Yahoo Mail using a different internet browser.

From my experience, I am using Internet explorer as my internet browser, there are times it will not let me sign in at Yahoo Mail even though my user id and password was type correctly.

I usually open Mozilla Firefox and try to sign in there whenever Internet Explorer will have problems signing me in to Yahoo.

If despite changing internet browser and you still you can not sign in, maybe it is time for you to reset a new password. You can go to
https://edit.yahoo.com/forgot?stage=fe100&src=ym&intl=us&done=http://mail.yahoo.com&partner=
Follow the on screen procedure, it will verify your identity, at the end it will reset your password

When I click on Yahoo Mail I get a Cant display

It sounds like you are using internet explorer. If this is correct, here are some
troubleshooting steps you can try:

First of all, Did you check to see if you are connected to the internet? If so, try refreshing your browser.

Option 2- Close your browser and then reopen it. Type in www.yahoomail.com and see if the sign in page shows up.

If none of these options work this may be a problem that you would have to contact micosoft about. The microsoft website has trouble shooting forums, live chat with a microsoft technician, email a technician, and there  is also most recent information related to popular issues with internet explorer, specifically to "internet explorer not displaying the webpage"

Another suggestion I have for you is that if you have another internet browser such as "Mozilla Firefox" Try accessing yahoo mail that way.

Hope this helps!

I have to sign in every time I check my mail. I check my mail at least four times a day. [email protected]

This could be due to a few issues.

One on your internet explorer options, you may have it set to delete cookies everytime it closes.

Two, you may not be checking the box that says keep me signed in for two weeks when you sign into yahoo mail.

If you are checking the box, then it is definetly the cookies setting on internet explorer. Go into the tools menu, internet options, and change it to where it doesnt delete settings and temporary cookies when you close internet explorer.

Also, when you are done checking your yahoo mail, do not click on sign out, or that will cause you to sign in everytime, and one final note.

After you are done using internet explorer to check you yahoo mail, dont close the internet explorer page, just type in maybe google.com or something of the sort. And leave the internet explorer window open.

( you can minimize it if you like)

Thank you for using Fixya, and please rate my solution!
