Black screen

You didn't say if you could see the subject in the LCD prior to taking a picture. If not, the lens isn't opening. If you can see the subject, it would probably be a defective sensor chip.

When taking pics will not show pics in lcd screen

If no power on the camera at all:
Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher).
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Turn on your camera without the memory card.

Sony DSC-S750 can only see black on LCD

It seems as though either the lens aperture is not opening or the CCD has failed. You could send it in to us at mackcam.com for an estimate

LCD screen not on when camera on?

You hit the EVF/LCD button near the "eye hole". When this is pressed it will cycle viewing through either the optical viewfinder or the LCD screen. This display is controlled independantly on each of the modes: shooting, or viewing. This is so you can set the camera to view pics before taking them from the optical viewfinder and view pics once taken from the LCD or vice-versa.

Canon powershot a540 black/web screen display

jvsnype and ygjeff21, have you checked to see if the pistures also come up as blank or distorted (a sure sign of a CCD failure)? If the pictures are OK, then it might be that you accidentally hit the DISP button, or the camera has a loose LCD ribbon cable connector. The reason I would suspect either is that ygjeff mentioned that the LCD would spring to life when he played with the buttons on the back of the camera.

If and only if the camera still takes good pics, and the DISP button has been checked, then would next recommend reseating the LCD ribbon cable into its connector (ALSO ONLY IF THE CAMERA IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY). The following link may be of some help. Wouldn't recommend going any farther than the first three pictures. You just want to jiggle or reseat the ribbon cable where the LCD connects to the circuit board, nothing else:

Kodak CX7330. turns on but LCD screen is black and won't take a pic

It sounds like a bad connection on the ribbon cable of the LCD screen to the camera's motherboard. The fact that when you physically move the camera around and you can get the screen to then work, tells me something is loose inside.

Good luck!
