Re: regarding problem with cd player

Quite a few players from that time did not play mp3's, due to the format's relatively new status. There is no way to play mp3 if the player didn't originally support it. You can try taking the mp3 discs you have and "up convert" to WAV type, then play them on your unit...accordianman

On loading a cd in to my C 541 it seems to freeze, indicates 'no disc' and makes a clicking/whirring sound. Will not play anything at that point. This happens with genuine, bought CDs

Seems that your player is looking for the index on your CD.
You can try to clean the laser carefully.
If your not familiar to do that, ask somebody.

My cd player was bought 2 weeks ago. so far I have used 2 double A batteries every other day. why? Is this normal? please help. thanks Idea

There is an electric motor in your CD player and this uses most of the battery power. Time of use is related to quality of batteries Duracell being the best usually and how long you are running the CD player. Why not get a cheap mains adaptor for indoor use and save your batteries. You could try good quality re-chargeable batteries, they usually work but some players are picky. Good Luck.

I have a cd stuck in my GPX KCCD3817DP CD player. How can I get it back? Will my cd player ever work again?

I had a gpx that did that to me. I tipped it forward at about a 45 degree angle and then tapped on the back of it and the door came ope. After this, it worked fine, so I just assumed it was a fluke thing that had happened???????

Will not record but will play cd's

You don't say what the recorder does do when you try to record. Any messages?

One possibility - You have to use CD-Audio or CD-Music media for consumer CD recorders. There are probably a zillion logos plastered somewhere on the unit that say what media are compatible with it.
