Sky plus remote not working no red led light when pointing at sky plus box

Turn on your Sky Box and TV.
On your Sky Remote, press the TV button.
Simultaneously press the Select and Red buttons until the red LED on your remote blinks twice.
Enter one of the following 3-digit remote codes for Sky TV:
2274
2169
1874
1798
1872
1873
The light on the remote should flash twice. If it blinks only once, repeat the steps with the next code.
Press the Standby button on your remote. If your television turns off, press the Select button to save the setting.
Turn on the TV and press TV Guide; if the TV Guide list displays on the screen, the programming was successful.

Remember that there are multiple versions of Sky Remote Controls available, so ensure you have the most recent version. If you encounter any issues with the 3-digit codes, you can also try using a 4-digit code. Here's how:

Repeat steps 1 to 3.
Enter the 4-digit Sky remote code for your TV brand.
Press the Standby button. If your TV turns off, press Select to save your settings.
Check if the TV Guide displays successfully on the screen.

Try this...Press tv on the sky r/c.

Then hold the select and red button at the same time,the red light should flash twice.

Then enter the code 1340,the red light should flash twice.

The press the standby button on the sky r/c,the tv should turn off,if it does then press select button on the r/c to store settings.

hi there,if you have a camera phone turn the camera on and point the remote at the lens.press a button on the remote and you should see a white light on the phones screen.this indicates the remote is ok,which then means most likely cause is a faulty sensor on the box itself.this tip works on any remote control. Or you could try the remote on a friends box maybe?. best of luck, steve ps.another tip is to unplug the box for a few minutes,and then see if it works ok.

make sure the power is turned ON

now go to the room you can not change the sky channels over with.
you should notice on the magic eye itself should now have a Red led light on it now. you should now be able to change the channel over just remember to press the blue sky button on the remote at the top otherwise this will not operate the sky box.

If not unplug this magic eye and try this directly into RF out 2 to make sure that its not the magic eye that is at fault. If it is working correctly then the light will appear.

Try resetting it by this method,it might work
To perform a RESET press [TV] and then hold [select] and [red button] together for around two seconds (until the red light blinks twice). Now press 999 (red light blinks once for a long time and then twice quickly).

1. Turn on the TV receiver
2. Press TV on the Sky Remote Control
3. Hold down SELECT and the RED buttons together for approximately two seconds, until the RED LED on the Sky remote blinks twice.
4. Enter three digit code from list for the receiver (early versions now flash twice).
5. Press select to enter code structure (the LED will flash twice if a valid code has been entered).
6. Now press the STDBY button and test other functions.
Repeat if necessary until a code is found that works most common functions.
TO PROGRAM THE remote USING THE 4 DIGIT CODE:
1. Turn your TV on.
2. Press tv on your Sky remote control.
3. Hold down select and the red button together for about two seconds, until the red light on the Sky remote control blinks twice.
4. Press tv on your Sky remote control again.
5. Key in the four digit code for your brand of TV. The light on the Sky remote control blinks twice. If the light blinks once only, recheck the code for your brand of TV and start again at Step 1.
6. Press the standby button on your Sky remote control. If your TV switches off, press select. The light on the Sky remote control blinks twice (code stored). If your TV does not switch off, press tv, then press the standby button. Repeat this (press tv, then standby) until your TV turns off, then press select (stores code).
If at this point the LED on the Sky remote control blinks three times then all possible codes for that make of receiver have been checked. Repeat from step one, ensuring that you enter the correct manufacturer code.
At the end of the sequence, if you see the TV Guide screen, the remote control setup process is complete. If you did not see the TV Guide screen, you must now complete the following steps.
8. Press tv on your Sky remote control.
9. Hold down select and the green button together for about two seconds, until the red light on the Sky remote control blinks twice.

Try this : Turn TV on, point remote away from TV, press TV button on your SKY remote...hold down SELECT and the RED key together for about two seconds, until the red light (LED) on the remote blinks twice...key in the remote code for your model of TV on the remote keypad ( for Goodmans, try 065, or 0335 ) then press SELECT button ( the LED should blink twice to show code accepted ) press SKY button to exit. point remote at TV and test.....Job Done . !
