Is there a way to unlock the menu feature

Unfortunately, you can't reach the CC (Caption Vision) sub menu without a remote control. You need to find another RM-Y121 remote or a Universal remote that supports the Menu feature of the original remote. (Some universal remotes do not include a Menu button. Avoid those cheaper models. You may have to search all Sony TV codes to get the needed button to work.)

A replacement original remote is available from EMT Company at http://www.emtcompany.com/sony-rm-y121-remote-control/101317789.html . The remote costs ~$12. Amazon has a vendor with a used version of the remote.

All sets with the lock feature have a way to unlock either with or without the remote--called a default code or method.

Look first to the owner manual as it may be there, failing there contact the maker with the model number for assistance.

There is no other way to unlock hotel mode, without its remote control.

To unlock GE TV, you must have its original remote control.
Most GE TV sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The code reset is different depending on the model. Try each procedings until you find the one that works for you.

1. Hold down the MENU button on the remote and VOLUME DOWN button on the TV it's self at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked

2. Hold down the 0 (zero) button on the remote and the VOLUME DOWN button on the TV itself at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked

3. Hold down the MENU button on the front of the TV and the TV button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds. 4- Hold down GO BACK button on the remote and MENU button on the front of the TV at the same time for at least 4 seconds.

Try this -

1. Press menu for main menu.
2. Press CH + or CH - to highlight preferences.
3. Press "OK" to enter preferences submenu.
4. Press CH + or CH - to high light "FPA"
5. Press VOL + or VOL - to turn the FPA on or off.
6. Press MENU repeatedly to exit.
7. Back to normal

• FPA stands for Front Panel Lock. It makes it so kids don't push all the buttons on the front of your TV. The power button on the TV will still work and the remote will still function as normal.

To unlock the panel lock of Toshiba TV, follow this.

Press the "Menu" button on the remote control, and scroll until you come to the "Preferences" menu. Select "Parental Control and Locks," then press "OK." If your TV does not have a "Preferences" menu, go directly to the "Locks" menu.

Enter the four-digit PIN that you selected when you turned the Panel Lock feature on. You may have to scroll up or down to access this area

Press the "Up" or "Down" buttons on the remote until you reach the Panel Lock feature. Move the cursor to select "Off," and press "OK."

Without its remote it will be difficult to unlock it. Just try to get its remote control by contacting RCA authorised service center or any other way. Universal remote controls will not activate the following said proceedings.

From the manual, pg 11 -

If you misplaced your Remote Control you can still access most settings via the MAIN MENU screen when you press both CH UP (8) and DOWN (9) on the TV set. • Some features of your TV Set will not be accessible without the Remote Control. If you lost your Remote Control, contact a Sharp Authorized Servicer by calling 1-800-BE-SHARP for a replacement.
