It sounds like the logic board is bad. The part number for the logic board is printed on the same end as the smart/learn button.

How can I program my garage door opener(Lenear) to my 2008 Suburban?

Follow the instructions in the owners manual. The last step is you have to press and release the learn button on your opener and then press and HOLD the button you just programed in vehicle until you see the light bulb blink.

2010 BMW 528XI Garage Door Opener Homelink Setup

**** >>> This setup I performed with my new 2010 BMW 528XI Garage Door Homelink and Chamberlain Garage Door Opener <<< ****

Chamberlain:
01. Power off or unplug the garage door opener motor power supply (which is mounted on ceiling of the garage) ;;;

02. keep the garage door opener transmitter in your hand (do not press any button at this time) ;;;

03. In your 2010 BMW 528XI Homelink button (which resides under rear view mirror) press the 1st and 3rd homelink button together for about 30-40 seconds (i.e., until the yellow light blinks fast) and when the yellow light next to the homelink button blinks fast release from pressing the (homelink) buttons ;;;

04. now hold the garage door opener transmitter closer (means within 2-4 inches) to the homelink button (either 1st or 2nd or 3rd) whichever you are planning to program to open the garage door ;;;

05. now press the garage door opener transmitter button and chosen homelink button (either 1st or 2nd or 3rd whatever you need) together ;;;

06. the yellow light (next to homelink button) initially may blink slowly but after few seconds (may be 10-20 seconds) will blink fast; once it started blinking fast release from pressing both garage door opener transmitter and homelink button ;;;

07. Now plug or power on the main garage door opener motor (which is mounted on garage ceiling) ;;;

08. On the main garage door opener motor (which is mounted on garage ceiling) press the "LEARN" button (once you press it may have yellow/orange color light; make sure the light is on) ; then within 30 seconds do the next steps #9, #10, #11 very carefully ;;;

09. go to your car and press the homelink button you programmed and hold it for 4 seconds and then release it --> 1st iteration ;;;

10. again hold the same homelink button you programmed and hold it for 4 seconds and then release it --> 2nd iteration ;;;

11. again hold the same homelink button you programmed and hold it for 4 seconds and then release it --> 3rd iteration ** important note; generally three iterations are not necessary; and steps #9, #10, #11 must be performed within 30 seconds ** ;;;

12. during one of the iteration you will hear "CLICK" sound one-time from Garage door motor (which is mounted on ceiling) and if you have light attached with it; it will blink once (** if you hear the CLICK sound and/or light blinks once**) then the particular homelink button is programmed ;;;

13. now press the programmed homelink button; the garage door will open or close (but always it will take 3 or 4 blinks in yellow light or 2-3 seconds before the garage door opens or closes and which is normal) ;;;

** Thats it, your 2010 BMW 528XI Garage Door Opener Homelink setup is complete ** ;;;

You can program rest of the homelink button the same way but following from the steps between #4 and #13 ;;;

Hope this steps will help you to program chamberlain Garage door opener in 2010 BMW 528XI Homelink. ;;;

** possibly the above same steps may work with other BMW 5-series cars homelink too (but I'm not sure) **

The light in my Homelink system does not come on. Therefore it cannot be programmed.

The following are steps to programming a rolling code door opener to the Homelink transmitter in the Touareg.

The instructions in the owner's manual are correct, but after following them, my garage door installer and I discovered a few quirks and fixes for them.

It is important to park the Touareg in front of the garage door. Be careful not to park underneath it. rolleyes.gif

If your remote garage door transmitters are already programmed to your door opener, you need to do the following steps:

1. On the garage door opener itself, there is a learn button. Press and hold down the learn button until the learn indicator light goes out (approx. 6 seconds). (The learn button is near the antenna on your door opener.) By doing this, you have just reset the codes. At this point your remote door transmitters will most likely not work. This is o.k.

2. In the Touareg, press and hold whichever homelink button you want to program until the light above the homelink buttons slowly blinks. Continue to hold the button in and at the same time, hold your remote transmitter underneath the map lights and press the button. Continue to press both buttons until the homelink light rapidly flashes. Let go of both buttons.

3. You now have 30 seconds to press the learn button on your garage door opener. Press it once. The light will start to blink.

4. Go back to the Touareg, press and hold the homelink button you just programmed for 3 seconds until you get a blinking light. Repeat again. This time, it should open or close the door. The homelink button is now programmed.

5. Now that the homelink button is programmed, you now have to re-program your remote transmitters. Take the transmitters with you.

6. On the garage door opener, press the learn button, the light will blink. Now press the button on the remote transmitter. The light should stop blinking. Repeat the step if you have more than one transmitter. You should be all set. The homelink button should work in the Touareg and your remote transmitter(s) should also work.

In summary, the rolling codes in the door opener receiver have to be reset. For some reason, the Touareg has to be programmed FIRST. Then the remote transmitter units. If the remote transmitter units are already programmed, you will most likely not be able to program the homelink in the Touareg for a rolling code door opener.

Make sure the battery is good. When you press the button on the rear of the opener, just press and immediately release. Then enter your 4 digit code and press enter. If this is what you have done then your keypad must be bad.

Last night, I went to close my garage door and as it started to close (door moved about a foot), it reversed directions and opened. I suspected a cat might have ran in and tripped the safety sensor, but,...

On the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go you will find a small light. Check to see if it is flashing a code. It will flash a number of times then pause and then repeat. This will help diagnose the problem. Also make sure the trolley hasn't traveled too far and jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. Post back.

Sensor lights blink contineously on one side and

Tweak the sensors so that they are pointed at one another. This should stop the blinking and the door should close.

My garage door opener just stopped working out of nowhere

1st Check to see if the saftey beams on the door track (near the bottom of the door,,,,,one on either side of the garge door) are still aligned. If they were hit or missaligned the door will not function.
The LED lights on the sensors will blink if not aligned properly.
2nd. If that doesn't work them try resetting the opperator by un plugging it. Wait 1 minute before plugging it back in.

Hope this helps
