Unfortunately, there is no easy fix for this issue. You are right, you do have a float sticking. If you know what one, sometimes you can remove the bowl off the bottom of the carb without pulling the carbs all out. Not many tricks for this, just tear the bottom end of the carbs down and clean them up. Good luck

XT 600 suddenly dies

Did you also change the pickup(pulse) coil part of the CDI system? A faulty one can stop sending the correct pulse when it warms up, an ohms test on the part won't always show the problem especially when engine is cold

Bike cuts out when i put it in gear,,,,,,,,,,,,1990 xt 600

Might be a problem with your side stand switch, if the bike thinks the stand is down then every time you put it into gear it's going to cut out. Try manually operating the switch. You can also disconnect the side stand switch and connect the wires on the loom side directly together in case the switch itself is faulty and can't close the circuit to allow starting.

I am having a emissions issue with a 2001 yamaha

check the float hights are all the same hight remove the carbs then the float bowls turn the carbs on the side so that the floats sit just on the needles and see if they are all on the same hight i would check the air filter first and the spark plugs make sure that they are not black and also check the float needles for damage and that there isnt any thing stopintg them from sealing

I just bought a 2002 yamaha yzf600r that has been sitting for a couple of years. I got it running but after a few minutes, gas starts leaking from the right hand surge tank. what is causing this?

OMG! men i got exactly the same problem and tought i could repair it myself so i took the bike apart (thinking that a fuel line was craked or something) but when i look everything seemed fine so i did more research and it was coming out from the carburator so i took it to the dealer and got it fixed for about 600$ and everything if perfect now (mine is also a 2002 one)
