2001 ford taurus with check engine light on. code

2001 ford taurus with check engine light on. code is P0125, which i was told was the engine coolant temperature sensor and i replaced that and the thermostat. Here I am now 1 week later, check engine light is on and code is the same P0125.

Make sure you replaced the right one there are two sensor's for the coolant, one takes coolant temp and the other one runs the fans for the radiator. Both are located on drivers side of the block. 2 wire leads on each how ever both are different in sending readings to the computer.Both look just alike also. Just make sure you replaced the right one. Or replace both.

What is code P0125

P0125 = low engine temperature, engine not reaches its temperature after start up.
need to check the engine thermostat, intake air and coolant temperature sensor and or dirty coolant causing incorrect reading of coolant temperature sensor.

Sounds as if the car is not getting warm enough, which could mean that your thermostat is stuck in the open position. Try changing it. That should take care of the problem. Depending on which brand you get, the thermostat will most likely cost you between $8.00-$16.00.

Also, check the coolant level. Make sure its at a proper level. The Temperature Sensor could be bad as well.
