R4 cart not working with Action Replay

I can use my Action Replay with any of my game cartridges. My R4 card also works by itself. But when I try to use the R4 cart with the Action Replay, it says Insert Game Cart.

Is there a trick to getting the two to work together?

There is no need for AR if your R4 works.
R4 should allow AR codes inside, thus you don't need the AR since it is built in your R4.

As pickmynose said there is no need for AR with an R4 in order to update your codes you'll need to download the latest cheat file available at http://cheats.gbatemp.net copy this to your r4 and you should have most cheats working. Read the FAQ at this link for further information. Hope this helps

Action replay doesnt play
try taking out the action replay and give it a good blow where the contacts are, also give the ds a good blow where the cartridge goes, thats either the problem or you may have updated the ds to the latest firmware and this does cause problems with action replace and r4 cards so that might be your problem, if you had another ds or no anyone with another ds then try the card in theirs, that way you can make sure the card works
