There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to control panel, clicks printers and other hardware, and then click add hardware.

SOURCE: WINDOWS XP SOUND DRIVER INSTALLATION

Hi there,

I have to know some information about your computer before I can find the sound driver. Please tell me what mother board you have. Is the sound on-board or is there a separate sound card?
I can help you find this information if you do not know. Come back to me with the answers.

Cheers

SOURCE: sound drivers

Lets see if windows can find it automatically...

  1. Go to the control panel, you can get there from the start menu.
  2. double click "add/remove hardware"
  3. go through the options and allow windows to search automatically for hardware changes as well as driver software from the internet.
Hopefully this will find your sound card, and get you the drivers you need. If this didnt work, let me know and we can try something else.

Good luck!

Fox conn drivers

~To download drivers and specific software;

Always get your drivers from the manufacturer of your Laptop, Notebook or Desktop.

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, usually one is able to download if available, by model number, All available Driver downloads as required.

If the driver is not available, perhaps your manufacturer does not support the OS you are installing.

This is the best way of ensuring up to date drivers for your system and they are free of charge!

There are no XP drivers to be found with Microsoft as XP is no longer supported.

Some manufacturers may have a limited number of Drivers still listed.

I hope this helps.

Hi Ok so you need to search on the internet (google will do) for "AC97 drivers for XP" You will find a few links where you can download your drivers. So download, install, then reboot your computer. It should work fine after that. Let me know if this isnt working for you. Good luck!
