No such thing as a generic driver for a wireless card. That card uses a Broadcom bcm4318kfbg chipset, so you may be able to get a driver from the Broadcom site. If not, go shopping for a card that supports win98.....sorry.
Dynex Wireless-G Desktop Adapter is making my Win XP freeze within seconds after logging in. I've tried uninstalling, installing about 5 times. I'm doing everything by the install directions, nothing seems to help. It's a Compaq Presario Desktop.
Please provide information such as the manufacturer and model of the wireless receiver (such as router or access point) as well as the wireless adapter card (if a separate component -- not built in) and the computer to be used as well as the operating system running on the computer. This information will help determine if the devices are compatible and will allow someone to find / review instruction manuals and provide you instructions possibly referencing pages in those manuals to resolve your issue. All the above will allow the instructions to be more specific to you environment and easier for you to complete,
Otherwise the best advice is the following which would probably be of little use to you. Your represent the eyes and hands of the team that will resolve this issue. The person on my end can only be as effective as what you can explain about what you see and do and what happens as a result.
Assure the communications for the receiver and adapter are compatible -- in many cases the communication type is identified as A, B or G with some devices supporting multiple types. At least one type needs to be in common between the receiver and adapter.
Physically install the adapter and it's software correctly
Configure the adapter with a compatible configuration with the reciever (router or access point)
Can't connect to my wireless router, it sees it but unable to connet
